I wouldn't store them for more than a couple of weeks, and even that can be pushing it. Depending on the strain, they are likely to just start pining and growing shrooms in the jar.

thats what my jars did when i didnt use them right away i left them for three weeks and then i looked at them they had mushrooms growing squished all through the freaking jars what a mess but i managed to salvage them

I`ve heard you can put them in the fridge...I`ve done so...but I haven`t used them so I can`t say if it works...

Well, you could always just case em in disposable cups .. or whatever. Improvization(sp?) is the mother of innovation.
