cake/casing best of both?

my friend was wondering if after the first flush off a rice cake can he then take it and rehydrate the cake then slice the cake into 4 slices and case it? i would guess that it might work but the yield might be somewhat smaller that if he would of just cased it to start with.
what is everyones take on this?

First off, your yeild after casing would definately be smaller. Casing the cake after that long could pose another problem involving contamination. Spores and bacteria could have landed on the outside of the cake during the first flush and then casing that cake would just lead to a contaminated casing. I think it would be best to stick to one method at a time.

Tired of pimping yourself on the corner to afford spores? Well throw out that red dress and go to the FSR, for spores even you can afford.
