what i hate about alot of message boards
the rules say stuff like, "don't flame or troll" etc...
yet that is all you ever see happening.

i guess some people think it's cool to talk in circles, they think they are powerful because they can interfere and influence others by peer pressure.
but all they ever succeed in doing is keeping away cool people who actually have something to say.

that's the shape our world is in, you can't change it.
put the blame where it belongs, on the guilty party, the owner and the mod team.

In reference to the original post: My mind is exceedingly open to the notion that many people are quite insane and must immediately be told that they are insane. Most of them live on the internet.

No, jokes aside, insane ramblings should be considered thoroughly. There is no mind, no rational mind anyway, that should be ruined by mere input, and so there is no reason not to accept some input for analysis. Analysis is not the same as acceptance, and it's important to discern convenient (or aesthetic) notions from truly reasonable ones. You can only do this by considering them carefully, and so you can only discount a notion by considering it carefully.

My only disappointment comes from those (and there are many here) whose aesthetically pleasing, psychologically convenient fantasies are completely stale and uninteresting. Those people I might, in moments of weakness, reduce to objects of amusement.

My point is that you cannot make a "network of interconnectedness", not that interconnectedness is not a word or concept. I don't see how you would expect me to be arguing the latter. It's just a redundant, and thus very silly, phrase, originally poised to sound lofty and significant. Hence, I found it funny, and asked if you could make pudding or gazpacho (a cold tomato soup) out of it, since apparently you conceived interconnectedness to be something you can make networks from. Get it? Okay, thought not.

See, humor often relies on a comparison between something postured to be very great, yet, with the recognition of some failure that renders this thing not-so-great, made to seem rather small. Sometimes the item in question is not really so flawed, but rather the flaw is grammatical or accidental, and this flaw is exploited by the chuckle-monger without the intent of actually meaning to disparage the original speaker.

When people note this described discrepancy between item's pretense and its flaw, they sometimes make this odd sound, like "Haw haw haw haw haw," or sometimes they just shake their head and move on to the next post. As the chuckle-monger, I really don't know which most people did in this case, but I at least entertained myself by imagining how silly it would be to have a pudding made from an abstract concept (no sillier than having a "network", whether literal or metaphysical, made from an abstract concept--glucose is made of things that are interconnected, but it is not "interconnectedness", that's just an abuse of thought).

Now that I have defunnied the already not-so-funny, I will move on and let you enjoy your aforementioned lofty pretense, your defense of the notion that pudding can actually be made from interconnectedness, so on and so forth, et cetera. Google image provides me with my final commentary on the thread's subject.
