Anyone know an inexpensive source of Vermiculite/Coir etc.?

I live in a ridiculously small town with hardly any access to vermiculte and perlite, much less Coir (and yes I've got a Walmart and a Lowes, and pet shops, already been there done that).
Does anybody know of an online site that carries all that kind of thing that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? With Gas being as high as it is, driving to the nearest big town and searching around would probably cost more than shipping
I found a place that had all this stuff pretty cheap, but the order was $17.74 and they wanted 22.50 to ship it! That's f**king rediculous!

Try "feed" stores, look them up in your local yellow pages. I'll assume your in the country since you said small town. You might need to drive a little to find one that is well stocked, but trust me, they are out there. There is one about 45 min from where I live that has EVERYTHING you could ever want. GIANT bags of verm for $4, perlite, crushed limestone, oyster shells, peat, straw bales, etc.

Call around and ask for everything you could ever need to save you on driving. Then just stock up!

home depot has verm and perlite. if they don't have it in stock thy'll order it for you. do you haveany hydroponics shops in your town? they'd have coir. usualy small towns and horses go hand in hand. get yourself some hpoo.

I dont like ordering those heavy items. I get a good deal from my local hardware store for "Beyond Peat" coir 5kg bricks for like $7.50 Canadian which suits me fine. It's cheap enough to warrant me keeping my hands out of h/poo all day long.
