Anamalia
    #7255271 -

I came up with this thought during my most recent mushroom trip. I clipped this from the many ideas in my journal/trip report.

Please forgive any preachy overtones. I was thinking onto the computer and wanted your feedback. Thanks!

When people act like animals...are they as good as the animals? Some would say they're always the same since we are all animals in so many ways. I venture to answer my own question with a question.

What elevates us from animals? Choice...potentially! Because when we use that potentially elevating gift of choice to choose to act as if by instinct, which for animals is doing what they were created for and for us is so much impetuous decision making like to get angry...like to get back at someone...like being caustically sarcastic at someone else's expense...this is not only a lack of not being elevated above animals but I'd venture to say that at that point of wallowing in "I me mine" we're on a lower level than animals.

That could certainly be connected the bad decision making which messes up the environment the animals live in and therefore hurt ourselves..but that is not my specific point here.

Have a gr8 week-end!

I would say that we are on the exact same level as animals, since we ARE animals.   Animals do what they are capable of doing, and their capacity is limited by their evolutionary history.

Like other mammals, we humans limit our capacity through acquired, over-generalized fear associations.  Our neurological evolution has prepared us to take this irrationality to new heights, and to plan ahead based upon these associations.

Thankfully, our neurological evolution has also lent itself to developing true rationality, which can be utilized to unwind our acquired fear associations.

I think that humanity shows great promise, but we also have the potential to totally fuck up.

Also the realization that great potential is inherent in humans; either to get us to higher level of consciousness or the lowest dimensions of consciousness.  The choice is ours to make, and we make it every moment of our existence.

I don't think anything elevates us from the "animals". We are just different in some slight ways that's all. Instinct is not just for negative things. It's a very positive thing also. You are correct for human animals it's a choice because of the way our minds work, but ultimately that may not be that important in the grand scheme. It's our self centeredness that makes it seem so.

Don't be so sure. There might have been a few cases where the vagina could have developed a tongue, but since it offers no evolutionary benefit to the species, nature would not have selected it. :muppet:

nothing animals are higher and were really the lowest thing on the planet. you see super people from another planet sent bactiria and encoded it with everything so that they can go to another planet like a super seed. and animals and plants were put there to learn from and use so we can live happy regaurdless of how much death and destruction happens on this planet. and its all telepathic and teleempathic
