I just received some Sunday coloured comics from my Dad in Toronto.

I saw one I just HAD to share w/y'all!
I should scan it but instead, for now, I'll describe it...it's one panel after all.

Two female angles are reading the obituary pages like singles ads. One is reading, the other looking on with a hopefully expression. The one reading reads the following: "Hey, check this one out! Tall professional, forty-one, loved Mozart, old movies, long beach walks and bungee jumping.

Whatta think o'that? Black humour yes, but quite clever no?

So it was Mozart who did it.... I had a suspicion.

Grok, I find your experiences very interesting and inspiring. I have vague assemblies of what it was like to be in bardo before being born but they are fallible.

Saying you are afraid of nothing is easier to say if one has never had a gun to ones head. I have never experienced that myself and no matter how I tell myself I would be brave and not grovel under those or similar conditions, I cannot say beforehand how fearful I'd be or not at that time. If one feels that there is but nothingness beyond this world then there is nothing to fear really, I can see why someone would therefore reason that there is nothing to fear as there is no repercussions to one's actions beyond the speeding tickets etc. of this world.

On the other hand, if the possibility exists as the majority of the people in the world believe, that striving to reach ones potential with their worldly actions is the goal here since, this belief puts forth, beyond this world is a spiritual existence, and that when one's soul goes beyond this world each individual will go through a process in which a weighing of those worldly actions according to their individual potential will take place, then I would expect people to resist and be apprehensive of death...to resist leaving here to be able to achieve more.

I posted my thoughts on the soul and a school of thought on it in my second journal posting if you'd care to have a look/reply/disagree.

My first post to the journal was about my recent trip on pan subbs and how blissful that was. No feeling of death, no anxiety even. Just pure pleasant up sail and down.

BTW
Just my opinion here:
Calling the post "What you should know" could possibly be understood that the poster believes that we readers: A)Don't know any of thse ideas in this post or B)Should know this info as it is an absolute truth rather than an opinion, personal or college gleaned philosophy being shared/posted for debate.
No biggie, just a thought.

Hugs to y'all! MIC

Just a question, who does this weighing and judging of our actions. Is it a group of ascended beings, and who judges this group, and who judges the group judging the group judging us. :nut:

Or is it just our higher self that does it?

It is all pretty vague, you know.

Hi, I was purposely being vague as:
A) Never been there, experienced that...thanks to the higher power as I know it! lol
B) I assume, without having examined each one, that each school of thought that ascribes to this belief must have a separate if similar  take on the judgment scenario and how it plays out.

For whatever clarity it brings, I felt that the following, when described to me, made sense assuming it will take place:

The soul is placed in a celestial "theatre" of sorts and a "film" call if flash back if you will, of the life it spent in it's most recent incarnation, if there is more than one, is viewed by the soul with the awareness that this same "film" is being "shown" to all those who were significant to this individual in this world.

I understood that this was not to mean that these real individuals would be present, as in, they have to die to be there lol but rather, the soul experiences what it would be like "as if" they were there and the experience becomes the reality.

Depending on the person's actions, this would determine the level of embarrassment they brought upon themselves as it will be obvious when, for example, the person had been lying to themselves or others during their lifetime...and ignorance is no excuse. Hopefully there won't be too much: "OMG I can't believe my Mum is seeing this!" taking place. lol
This school of thought concludes therefore, that being embarrassed here takes the place of having to experience it "there" where it will be harder to take but there will be no choice. We don't ask for embarrassment but it's easier to take here if you feel that it has a healing quality to it. Assuming that's true would you agree to that?

Have a good one!

Most new age movements use the term higher self to denote an intelligent, eternal and conscious being and that we, meaning all individuals manifest in the third density to experience whatever lessons necessary to move to the next density.

When you die, then "you" sit or stand with your higher self, and then discuss what lessons needed to be learnt in the next birth.

That's what i gleaned after reading quite a few online resources

http://www.divinecosmos.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1 this is good source, especially his free ebook and articles.

I'm still a skeptic but it is fun to read and discuss about our higher selves, multiple universes, Gods, demons, etc.

Yes, you can merge back into the higher self after all the lessons have been learnt, and enjoy eternal bliss.

Merging with your higher self transcends both life and death, if you go by what new-agers say. I would consider that safe sex, neither bringing forth life nor getting stoned for adultery.

But there is something that the Buddha, Krishna, Mahakashyap, Mahavira, Rumi, Lao Tzu, Kabir, Ramana Maharishi, etc, came to, an experience of the limitless, boundless, and I hope to find it too.

I don't think they needed to believe in astrology, alien visitations, and other paranormal phenomenon.
