neighbors saw my friend smoking

My friend's new neighbors were sitting out on their deck, and one of the idiots walked over to his deck where he was smoking to look for his cat. The neighbor definately saw him exhaling a hit, but he might have been able to hide the bong in time.

If this neighbor decided to call the police, is there anything they could do?

I doubt they'd come looking but if they do and ask to come in give em the ol nope, retaining my rights, you don't have a warrant get the fuck off my porch shpeel, they can't just break down your door and raid your house for your bong or any weed

where i live the law is reasonably tolerant... ie: you smoke a litle pot and cause no-one any hinder... you social life doesn't become intolerable... don't grow the stuff for sale, just private... and if you DON'T involve any minors.......they will let you live! lol

neighbors could call and police would find my sensi plant... prob allow but could confiscate... no i'll get off with a warning unless they find i need to lessen my usage and sobe rup more...

what's the general situation over there?

In fact leave your bong out so it's visible to them if they come to your house and if they ask you about it, just say it's a vase.

Your friend's neighbor would have to be an awfully big prick to call the cops on him just for that. Let's hope that he's not.

It almost sounds like the neighbor was trespassing anyway. Was that the case or did I misunderstand?

Oh, and tell your friend that joints and blunts are better for smoking out on the porch.

Yeah the neighbor was definately tresspassing. When he saw my friend he was just like, "Here kitty kitty kitty, here kitty...OH...." And then he turned around and walked back to his house.

It's been about 40 minutes tho so I don't think anything will come out of it except for more nasty rumors going around the neighborhood.

I hate annoying neighbors, I tend to have some bad luck with neighbors, random people dumping garbage in the yard, people blocking drive ways, nosy creeps etc

Or it could be your neighborhood...  In that case most people probably won't care if you're smoking though.

Around here I live in a stupid ass communities where they police everything and can kick you out of your own paid for and everything house for having a car parked on the side of the road.  :rolleyes:

The vast majority of people would not call the police because they saw someone exhale smoke on their own property. and even if the neighbor called the cops...who cares? No need to be rude or tell them "ur have no warrant gtfo lolz"...simple tell them something like "nah, he must have been mistaken"
no cop would put that much effort into nabbing someone for supposedly smoking pot an hour or two ago on their own property.

Some neighbors are assholes when I was in highschool I was smoking a bowl in one of my friends back yards at around noon on a week day so I thought that no one would be around. Turns out his neighbor was spying on us through the window, and called the cops on us. So after chillin out and drinking a little absinthe we decided to go on a hike and when we walk around the side of his house there's a cop pointing a gun at us and telling us to get on the ground.

Probably about a year ago I was smoking pot as usual when I heard a knock on the door. Looking through the peephole I saw nothing. It was kind of late at night, so glass pipe in hand, I opened the door to investigate. As a cloud of smoke billowed out of my apartment, I saw the cop standing just off to the left of the door. She smiled, apologized for bothering me, and asked if I knew anything about a strange white four runner which had appeared in my neighbor's garage. I smiled back, told her no, and said I'd be sure to call if I heard anything. She went on to the next apartment and I went back to smoking bowls. It really couldn't have been a more civil and pleasant exchange if I'd answered the door holding a bible.

I really don't think that most police care about people smoking pot in their own house. I was watching an episode of COPS where they pulled over a stoned driver. They didn't give him shit for smoking weed, they told him to do it at home and not behind the wheel. If your neighbor calls the cops about you smoking weed, without hard evidence like a video tape, they'll probably laugh him off the phone.

Of course there will be exceptions like with gento, but I'm guessing he lives in a small, conservative town that has a lot of hard-ass cops with nothing better to do.
