I've got 12in of very stressed pedro, do you think it would be to much for 1 dose? Would it be enough for 2? I licked it today after i cut it...VERY bitter.

How much does it weigh? Or, what is the diameter? How was the plant stressed and for how long? How experienced are you with mescaline?

Seeing as you can't accurately estimate the strength of a cutting without actually consuming it, it is all you can do. I wouldn't recommend splitting it though as it is likely to be a far too low dose. Unfortunately, taste is not a good indicator as I have tasted bits of cacti that had low alkaloidal content and still tasted extremely bitter.

You need to measure your slice by weight or at best with diameter as well as length. Check this web page for dosage:

Most importantly, know yourself. If you feel you can take the trip, do so. If you do, on the other hand, have any worries or uncertainties, just don't.

It's 12 and 1/2in long, 2 and 1/2in wide at the base, tapering down to 1in at the tip.
I stressed it for a few months by- not watering it, stabbing it with knifes, wrapping it in wire, poking it with toothpicks, peeling of layers of skin, etc.
I have done one low dose of mescaline before and it was wonderful.
But I really don't want intense of a trip...

I was planning on prepping it by just peeling off the waxy skin, cutting off the inner green layer, drying it and discarding the rest of the white interior... sound good?

Man that Pedro is gonna kick your ass in revenge.  Did you use any type of fertilizer?  I got my first cactus (Peruvian Torch, I think) a week ago.

If you have more than that one foot available, extract the mescaline.  Otherwise I'd make cactus snot/tea with the cutting.  Eating the dry cactus has the greatest chance of nausea, but is the easiest way of dosing.

That sounds good. What I do is take of the waxy skin and core, leaving the white flesh. Then I freeze it to break up all the cell walls and collect the liquid that comes off when it defrosts. After which I blend it in a blender with a cup or two of water(depending on amount of material and preference) and some squeezed lemon juice. Then I freeze it again for good measure and heat it up in a pan and let it almost simmer until the liquid is a low enough amount(depends on how much material has been used and preference). Finally a strain the goop and drink the liquid. You can eat the resulting material if you wish but I tend to leave it.

Do you intend to just eat this dried material? I advise you use mine or a similar method as you need all those cell walls destroyed to get out all the mescaline. I don't let the water boil because there might be other alkaloids that get destroyed by the heat, affecting the experience. I have found my method the most effective after trying others. Also, gulping down a liquid and then washing it down with grapefruit juice to counter the bitter taste is vastly easier than just chewing the bitter solids that remain in your mouth for a while.

A couple of weeks to a month should do but its up to you really as there is no definite answer.

It is extremely unlikely that you will get more than this from an estimated 425g of material. Of course I can't assure this but I recommend that this should be used as one dose. Otherwise you and the other person are likely to get no to only slightly noticeable effects.

Yes, yes and yes. The nausea can be very intense so be prepared. Once you puke you feel so much lighter and better so just look forward to that. I feel that this part is very much part of the trip and is integral to the whole experience as it is somewhat like a purging or purification.

Yeah, splitting that between two people probably won't do much.

Not that there would be absolutely nothing. You could probably realize the change in a calm, meditative state. Then again, it could probably easily be drowned out by placebo effects.

the taste will make you want to puke. once you get by that you probably wont puke. i have never vomited from cacti, i have also never had loph's but plenty of trich's.

I'm going to grind it just before use in a coffee grinder...what do you think? Will that break the cell walls?

I plan on eating it over 30-45m

I never even knew about this cell wall thing? I mean im eating the cells why do I have to break them? If it was possible to eat an entire 20 foot cactus and you did nothing but peel it and eat it fresh...would it have no effect because the cell walls are'nt broken?

Where did you hear this?

Can people confirm this please?

It is difficult to break down plant cell walls in the human digestive system. So if the cell walls are broken down your body can just absorb the alkaloids. I have read about this in preparation methods on the internet and it has been backed up from my own experience.

Of course it would have an extremely powerful effect if you could eat all this. It's not that it will stop the effect it just makes it harder for your body to process the plant matter and thereby affect the absorption rate of mescaline. South American natives would boil the cactus slices for up to a day. However, today we have a blender which vastly increases the speed at which we can break down the cells.

A coffee grinder will work but I advise that you extract it further. My method is not essential, you can do it your way. However, the more effective your extraction method the stronger the trip will be. Simple as that. Otherwise you may be very disappointed.
