Substrate pellets

I'm just wondering --- if -----------BIG IF--------------->

someone went to the time, trouble & expense to formulate a well suited (consistant) compost -- straw -- dung (horse & cattle) mix that was suitable as a mushroom substrate.

Then, carried it one step further & had that same material ran through an extrusion machine & made into dry PELLETS about the size that are used in pellet fired stoves for heating purposes.

IF, there would be a market for such a product?

The advantage of such a pellet substrate would be low cost, light (dry) weight, no rank smell, uniform consistancy, easy to measure, bag, ship & easy for the end user to pasturize & use in differing applications as substrate for whatever mushroom he or she chose to cultivate.

Certainly, it would be rather capital intensive to initiate. But, such a product (at least to a Raccoon I know) would appear to meet a rather vast market demand niche.

Any thoughts from any Wizards out there. SixTango
