Yes. But I think that this way of considering people tends to "flatten" them out, to use a literary term, when in fact everyone is quite a round character. Perhaps you should think about them less generally, and start to examine the more complex aspects of their character.

You are definitly right, and I would never try and delude myself into thinking that this or any other person were so two dimensional. I'm sure that she has a many-layered internal experience, and my only reference is to her behaviour towards me. I know that she feels threatened by me, and that her sense of value and identity are tied up in being pretty and being the centre of attention. I'm sure that there is more under there, which is one reason I'm so annoyed by her. She's got great potential, but she's too scared to be true to herself and ends up letting her pettiest element dominate.

orsen - i have no idea how one would go about organizing and classifying such archetypes. I really haven't put that degree of thought into it. It's definitly an interesting and worthwhile question though!

Archetype - pattern (myth - not in the bad way but from an idealized or unidealized POV)

An incredible read on this topic, if you are interested:

Goddesses In Everywoman

Bolen explores the feminine archetypes using mythology, but does so with a distinctly psychological slant.

We found a house! It's gorgeous and fulfills all of our criteria perfectly! It's even better than the one we just lost (and all the others we lost as well.) Life is good.
