entheogenic marijuana

Doing research on cannabis, one finds a lot of religious movements that use it - rastafarianism and many native traditions, for example. However, there isn't much detail on just -HOW- it is used in such a context. Eaten? Smoked? Communal? Solitary? For meditation, visions, healing?

I'm pretty much a gigantic stoner myself. I've smoked weed every day for the last year with very few breaks. I have noticed that when I get high now, it's more about relaxation and chilling out. When I started, it wasn't so much relaxing (possibly because it was new and scary), but I would often have insights and visuals almost comparable to those I derive from heavy psychedelics. I still get those, but very rarely and not as intensely as before. It makes me reconsider my use of it as a "daily medication."

What are your experiences with weed as an entheogen vs. a simple relaxant?

I am a modest user of marijuana, so for me I often glean quasi-moving insights and subtle visuals. I typically will just smoke a bowl, read a little while, smoke a cigar, and then watch a good movie or something. I guess for me marijuana is both an entheogen and a relaxant. :bongload:
