Flower ID please.

Sorry for the size. Something has changed on the way
pictures are handled or something.

Anyone know a good place that gives the charateristics
of Opium and non-Opium Poppies?

Bummer.

J/K  Thanks Mitch.

So are the hairy stems the main, obvious
give away on a non-Opium Poppy?  That and
the whitish tinted leaves on the Opium Poppy?

Hopefully there will be a lot more flowers blooming
in a few months in this area and the seeds were not
labled as to any particular variety...

They're pretty unmistakable once you know how they look.

The leaf shape and colour are a good thing to go off, now you've ID'ed this plant i doubt you'll have many problems in the future.

The flowers can vary alot though.

Not really, a dried pod is harder to properly id than the plan in growth.

Basically its the texture, and colour of the leaf and stems that make
it obviously a opm poppy. That cracking blue green, that looks lush
as opposed to the darker, drier looking greens of all the other poppys.

As was said earlier, once you know what they look like, there hard to mix up with other species.

No idea really what you get from trying to milk other species, but you wont get the  :blazed:  feeling out of it
