Mushroom Nutrients.

What would be some good nutrients to add to substrate? Their are some for sale at some sites but Im wondering if anyone knows what theyre made of?

Boil some wheat straw, and strain it saving the liquid. You can use this liquid instead of water in the pf jar thing.

Yah that helped alot.. Reason why I asking is because I got myself 3 thirty pound bags of rye grain at cost from the store I work at and Ive got 12 jars getting ready to go.
Im hoping that since you can fruit on rye that I might be able to put enough nutrients into pans of grain, inoculate with the jars and after caseing get similar results as if I were to use maneure and straw which seems to be the best combo.

My theorie though is that maneure gives the essential nutrients and beneficial bacteria and straw gives areation and allows mycellium to run rampid. Ive got 1 pint of horticultural grade humus (not humus soil but actual slime) and Ill try mixing rye flower, maybe some of my brewers yeast (next time I brew Im keeping everything and Ill use ths spent stuff, i think that will work well) and maybe some oats (I can get bulk of that for cheep).

Anyway well see how it all turns out.
Coco fiber and vermiculite for caseing. Any suggestions? Comments?

i swear by my coco. its all over pet stores in reptile bedding section. get the compressed fibrous one, not the big wood chips one. mine is called "bed a beast."
