Amanita muscaria

hi there, i live in sydney australia and i find these mushrooms that i think are amanita muscaria in their thousands all around my area under pine trees. i was wondering if they are safe to trip on, or if the reports of people getting violently ill are true or not. if anyone has knowledge of them please reply. they are white stalk whit gills red top with white spots on them, they look exactly like images of amanita muscaria when i search on google etc, are there any that look like this that are dangerous?

Your zip file is corrupted, and is only 5k, far too small to contain clear photos.

Try uploading your pictures to photobucket. Make sure you include some good clear shots of the base of the stem, which you might need to dig up a little to make it visible.

Amanita muscaria is not a particularly safe mushroom to trip on - Psilocybin mushrooms have a much better safety record. If you decide to do it anyway, get a positive ID, dry the mushroom first, and keep the dose small.

i fixed the picture. thanks for the info. they are in their thousands all around my place. would they be the same as the amanitas in other countries?

i would not recomending eating them as the fact that we cant identify them as of now and amanitas are hard to tell the difference between a muscaria and a poisonous mushroom of the amanita family there are some deadly amanitas

we need to see the base of the mushroom to see if it is a bulb so dig it up dont clip it then post more pics

The zip file you have posted now is slightly larger, 296K this time, but is still corrupted.
