How to avoid a bad trip

Ive been reading some reports on the shroomery and I decided I wanta trip.I wanta have a good trip though not freak everybody out and have a bad trip.Im sorta unhappy most of time but will that affect my trip.I think If I just watch Hendrix at woodstock or play my guitar ill be fine but what do yall think.Or whats some other things I could do to not have a bad trip.

if you are mostly unhappy DO NOT TRIP. it feeds off emotions and IS NOT an escape drug. This isn't weed.

bad trips come randomly, sometimes even if you are happy. playing guitar helps me groove and not freak, and TV helps kinda ground you into reality, though not fully. just let go and you should be fine (though easier said than done) try not to think of "bad trips" and you should be fine

if you lay in bed at night and think bad thoughts, DO NOT TRIP, if you have feelings of hate or anger, DO NOT TRIP. Its a MIND drug, your imagination can only access what is inside your BRAIN and memory. I am a happy person, i have fun trips, i become very creative, however Last night in the aftermath of the Trade Center going down i started getting bad vibes, but the mushies really helped me realized what had happened, i was somewhat in denial, but i realized while i was dancing and partying with my Islamic, Arabic, Hindu, African, American, Oriental, straight and gay brothers and sisters that things on a world wide scale need to change, beginning with each of us.


...and i awoke to find they had installed lights on the walls across the room, no...i'm lying on the floor, wow those babies were good!!!

Just go with the flow... When you get the urge to giggle, then giggle, when you get the urge to run in a circle, then run in a circle, when you get the urge to flail your arms and jump up and down then do it. When you get the urge to get naked and climb up to see if theirs a candle in the street light well just dont let yourself get in that situation. My point is dont hold anything back and just have fun. Ooh and you WILL get those anxiety urges so remember thats its unhealthy to repress them durring your trip.

It will all depend on your mindset and setting. I like to trip somewhere that I feel comfortable at and with people that I'm good friends with, tripping in nature with two of my good friends will make me have a great trip.

I've tripped a couple times when I was feeling unhappy but felt better after the trip because of the setting. Just find a place you really like and that's safe from lots of people sticking around, you should be fine

One of the most important things to rember if you start to feel a bad trip coming on is that your on a drug that affects your mindset. Tell yourself thats its just the drug. Tell yourself over and over if you have to. Eventually, you will listen to yourself and hopefull avoid a bad trip.

Exactly - if you remember that it is a trip - that you are coming back from - Im sure you'll realise that its like holidays - sometimes they are good, sometimes it rains, but you'll be going home afterwoods either way...

Yeah, I have shroomed 2 times in my life. The first one was fantastic. I saw halo's around every light, brilliant colors, and for some reason, I made myself write this thought down: "You think with your emotions, and everything is meshed into one life..." It made perfect sense when I was shrooming, but I don't understand it now. Guess the 3rd time will prove me right or wrong.


The second trip, woah... talk about a breakdown. I was shrooming WHEN I was driving with my friend about to get DRUG TESTED for Marijuana. I smoked 3 days prior to that drug test day, but I cleansed my system with the right ingredients, so I luckily passed (1 Gallon of water a day, plus a cup of Crandberry Juice)-- > It flushes all the pot out of your system, like drinking prune juice or something. Bah, anyways, I remember on my second trip, I was incredibly stressed out, and was freaking out when driving. I don't remember any Halos or vivid colors, but I remember just flippin out at everything, It seemed like my whole life was falling apart within seconds, and I dont' know why I felt that way. It was terrible, and I wish I never took shrooms if I knew that you could have bad trips. Now I know, all is better:
All I am sayin is make sure you are in a great, confortable spot, natural places are good, as long as their safe and you don't fear them, and don't drive anywhere, b/c dricing is a stressful job. Just make sure you are in good condition, if you want, with close friends who will smoke with you or take care of you (Weed compliments shrooms by the way, first shroom experience was so fucking sweet after I smoked weed), and jsut be happy when you do them. Relax and do something creative, draw or something. You'll be amazed at what you can do when you sober up! Lata peeps.

hm, perhaps some people won't agree with me on this
but the best way for me to avoid them is not to worry about them
sure, the setting has to be okay but don't stress yourself too much

Till so far I've had no really bad trips and I've tripped a few dozen times. Two times during a trip it started to go bad because of circumstances but each time I was able to turn it into a good trip again. The first time I a change of music helped and the second time (on 7 grams cubensis) I just let myself go instead of struggling the fear. I don't think I'm superior and immune for bad trips or something, it will happen to me sometime. But I'll just experience it like any other trip. No need to worry now, when it happens I'll deal with it. Perhaps I have no real rights to speak because I haven't had a serious bad trip yet but this is just my two ? 0.02

One thing that will help on your first trip is not taking a too high dose. My first trip was with a pretty high dose and I started to freak out a bit because I felt so sick and my vision got extremely blurry. But when that went over and I looked up again to see everything dancing around eachother while my vision was clearer than ever and I felt so much joy I forgot all about it. However no words can describe what to expect since it will differ from person to person, so you will be surprised since you don't know what to expect. When the dose is too high that can be a bit frightening.

oh and that sorta unhappy thing doesn't seem like a too big deal to me
I'm unhappy 95% of the time :/

... the most important things while tripping. For starters, clear your schedule and make sure you won't have to deal with anybody or anything external to your experience. Turn off the cell phone, etc.. Have a place you can be without visitors, family members, etc.. just you and your friends. I find it preferable to not be in an urban environment. Maintaining in public can be very annoying.. As I learned once, tripping in Amsterdam; we couldn't handle it and had to retreat to our hotel room.

Regarding negative thoughts, learn to actively, ignorantly, and almost physically snap out of them. I did, during my first mushroom trip. SNAP. Change your attention.

Pot taught me how to not ever be paranoid in real life, because after years of smoking it you learn to tell yourself: "Shut the hell up, you're high, everything's dandy."

Mood affects your thoughts just like thoughts affect your mood.


Go to a big secluded pretty park or something, on a sunny day. And, ironically, don't worry too much and do much controlling and planning and asking what to do and reading all our replies etc...

Forget all of this. (paraphrasing): The shadow of lost knowledge will protect you from many illusions.
