You think governments need a bunch of construed lies and contradictions just for control, hypocrisy occurs because the new testament contradicts the old in alot of its teachings. Goes to show who put together these books or selected them were pretty stupid, I don't think the people need to be controlled by a bunch mixed messages and lies, its clear from where we're seeing it that these brainwashed kamikaze Jihadists were feed a bunch of BS. You can easily flip that case around on us as well. Governments need rational not religion.

One of the many reasons that Bush got elected in the first place was the day he used "I'm a born-again liar". That immediately gave him enough numbers to seal the deal into the white house. While not all people vote on their religious convictions, enough do and are blinded enough by them that govt is able to run as it pleases. We almost all agree on this site that the govt shouldn't be able to control our day to day lives. Many of Bush's supporters (evangelicals) feel exactly the opposite. I see it as this is my body to do with as I please. They see it as their right to control my rights over my body. If I wanted to drink a bottle of bleach, I should damn well be able to drink a bottle of bleach. It in no way harmed them.

Uh...yeah I most certainly do. Govt propaganda is quite often lies and contradictions. Look at the drug hysteria here in America.

Here's a nice big lie that I love (and hate). And this hasn't been edited into American History textbooks as it should. Why not? Maybe our govt don't want to paint itself as liars to our young, developing minds. History can be the best form of Propaganda. Every country has its own version of history.

Evangelical christians are christians none the less. And most evangelical christians are also pro death penalty. Me being a little too generic doesn't downplay the significance of my argument. We can play the game of semantics or we can work to find a solution.
