that would be me citing examples of instances where the iraqis did not honor the spirit of agreements they made. i have not. i can't even tell you which resolutions the iraqis violated But you did repeatedly post a heavily right-wing biased list of (alleged) breaches of UN resolutions by Iraq. You still havn't explained why you kept doing this. What point were you trying to make? now unless you presume to tell me what I think I merely presume to point out your earlier posts.

I merely presume to point out your earlier posts. in which i never said that the invasion of iraq was 'legal' under UN guidelines. listen... i understand that this is a foreign idea to you... but intelligent people are constantly analyzing the evidence at hand and reconsidering the validity of their positions. when one's views conflict with reality, the rational thing to do is call those views into question. while i once (or probably 2 or 3 times) felt that the invasion was a good idea, i no longer do, and i never thought that it wasn't 'illegal' by the UN charter, i just didn't care. i do not think that the war was a good idea, and i acknowledge that it was a violation of UN protocol. according to a poll i recently made, so do the vast majority of other libertarians here. now is when you re-examine the evidence, and when you see that reality conflicts with your beliefs, you call those beliefs into question. in case you forget, that would be the assertion: "Strange, this libertarian says the reasons for launching war were bullshit while "libertarians" like pinkie, hagbard etc insist the war was totally legal and justified. Maybe the libertarians are getting misrepresented on this board."

Fair enough mush, but after Bush has launched a war on another country on the basis of "breaches of UN resolutions" and you see someone repeatedly posting the same long list full of aggressively right-wing interpretations of alleged "breaches of UN violations" the idea "That guy is completly against the war" isn't the first thing that springs to mind. If you'd put on the end of the list "Of course none of this in any way whatsoever justifies a completly illegal war" maybe your position would have been a little clearer.

Bumped because sections of this thread are relevant to the current discussion going on in post http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/5769725/page/0/fpart/1/vc/1 and I don't feel like typing it all over again for those too stubborn to click on the link to this thread I provided.
