I just blew the second hit of salva 5X out after about 15 seconds......I could of held it in longer but I started to get real freaked out .........I blew out the smoke and just waited for the effects to wear off....I've taken some stronge acid in my time but I'm throwing out the rest of this salva shit..I really don't like it at
all......................................

i hold somewhat similar sentiments.. salvia just doesn't feel right. i've had the same damn ounce of leaves and a few grams of 5x for almost a year now 'cause i don't smoke that shit no more

I gave salvia a go once (when it used to be legal here until only very recently...bloody typical huh) and I admit it was the weirdest thing.....Only 2 hits & I totally forgot that I had taken anything which is pretty unusual for me, and it came on way too quickly for my liking, like a fucking sledgehammer.......
I think I like having a bit more time to come up and acclimatize (ie mushies) but then that's just me. Heavy curling plant-like tendril visuals over everything was pretty cool though, and I thought my body was being stretched towards the east and the Pacific ocean and it felt like it wasn't coming back either, hehe........and so I figured my flatmate would come home and find my body missing!
.......there was a nice, comfortable afterglow though 
let this be a lesson - have a sitter at least the first time!

It never fails to amuse me that peeps think that just because they've had one tryptamine experience they think all the others will be the same. Every substance is going to be its own experience.
I never tried salvia but all my friends who smoke it, absolutely love it.
I really think people should not be allowed to experience the psychedelic experience until they've had some basic training in mindfulness and have an understanding of ego/consciousness. I can't tell you how many times over the last 3 years I've had to "sit" with kids at raves/parties who thought taking a ten strip would be "fun" just cause their friends do it all the time. But hey, if you're ignorant enough to not research substances before ingesting them...you really can't complain to anyone but yourself. 
Don't throw away the salvia...either give it to someone who wants it or sell it.

I've triped on the best LSD 25 and have experienced DMT as well as some of the most mindbending drugs available ober the last 30 years so save the lectures. I gotta tell you if you have never tried Salva you don't dnow what I'm talking about. Now some people love the stuff but to me it just feels wrong.

My personal opinions of salvia. I know it affects other people differently...
Most noticeably, a strong sideways pulling effect and a sort of magenta/green overlay. Jerkiness or feeling of time skipping. Swelling hands, partial bonding-to-the-chair. High-pass filter on audio and one's own voice sounding far away. Interesting, worth having tried just to see what it's like, but it's over before it gets going.
Wouldn't say it is too much for me. It's not enough. Not really a trip. A 'stoned-ness' different from- and of inferior quality- and shorter duration than that of good buds. There's supposed to be a visionary realm you can 'go away' to, and other people can, but I've never been there.
Salvia D. is not a tryptamine btw. It's a diterpene.

Its kinda dissapointing to read such posts. Not because some people dont
like salvia, thats an objective opinion and should be exactly like that. Its just
that i have read some flame posting which at least means there are so many
not-openminded people.
Salvia Divinorum is a sacred plant; in fact its the sacred of them all. Salvinorin's potency
is so high, that you need less quantity than on DMT. Its a diterpene - the only
one as everything else is alkaloid - and that is a huge difference.
My experience with Her, was an experience of life. I was there sitting on
a carpet with my sitter next to me, the carpet was alive and i was discussing
with a wise old woman who was talking directly to my heart. That was THE
experience. Its an experience that makes you a better man. I love shrooms,
acid, dmt and other psychoactive substances, but deep down in my heart,
salvia is a Goddess that can cure me and help me if its needed.
If you had a bad experience with Salvia, or you didnt have anything special
apart from a sore throat feeling, then you havent tried salvia properly, so its
like eating a tiny piece of shroom boiled for 13 hours and then say "hey, i dont
like that shit, its not anything special".
Have you read the users' guide? Have you read the faq? Did you have a
sitter to take care of you on your trips? Were you completely sober prior
to testing Her? Did you let Her visit your heart?
Salvia Divinorum is not an ecstasy pill, to take it and know that its gonna work.
Salvia helps yourself to work on yourself, so you need to be cool with
yourself prior to using it. Salvia is a true gift of God to us, its not a mechanism
to work like other things do.
Believe in Her and She will show all Her glory to your soul.
Just my opinion,

Salvia gave me an intense headache that lasted for hours with extreme tiredness. I did huge rapid bong hits. I heard people(beings) talking about me over my left shoulder. I melted into the earth and became part of it's spirit and could feel myself spinning with the earth against the sky. I had a terrible sense of foreboding that the beings would be here soon and I'd better get everything in order. I tried it quite a few times but was frightened and paranoid when on it. After I woke up I would find things moved around in the room but I didn't remember moving them. I didn't like the feeling and stopped doing it. I still have a huge jar full for more than a year. I sometimes feel drawn to try it again, but the thought of the headache says no. Just some people get the headache--why me?
