New bluing Psilocybe from GA(PICS!!)

For those of you who weren't here or don't remember, last year I found a new active Psilocybe specie, or atleast new to GA. I found it last october and wasn't sure what the season for it was. Since I found that weilii the other day I figured I'd go check and see if that new specie was up and fruiting yet, and sure enough it was. Only 3 specimens, but hey, its better than nothing and I'm just glad to see them back this year, they aren't just some fluke fruting of a specie never to return.
Its definitely active, I'd say highly active, a little over a dried gram of material sent me into psilospace for 8 hours! The 3 specimens found in these pics will be sent to J. Gartz for ID. I think they are possibly Psilocybe mammillata, if not they are definitely a new species.
Here are some pics...

Nice work again LK...I am looking very forward to getting out on the hunt this year again. I still don't know what those unidentified ones I found were either. Sent some to Workman..maybe he can figure it out. Cheers

RIP Matt, your friendship and your contributions to the world of fungi will be missed. Unfortunately we never got to hunt together.

Werent you calling those ps atlantis last year?? Good work on whatever those are tho. I am amazed LK at the amount of mushrooms you find in georgia. You make it look like the ultimate place to live and pick psilos year round. Keep up the great photography and mush hunting skillz.

Thanks for the kind words friends
No, this is not the Ps. atlantis, I haven't found atlantis yet, but I have been shown the original patch they were first discovered in and will have pics of them in the wild sometime this year. Nope, the mushrooms pictured here is a new species, or thought to be new. Its definitely not atlantis, the original collector of atlantis came down to see this new species I found and confirmed its not atlantis. It could be Ps. mammillata, but its hard to tell since a picture of mammillata doesn't exsist. Its either a new species or mammillata, theres nothing else it could possibly be.

Cool man They almost have a pan. subb. look to them. Well at least the belted cap color. The stems even look a little similar.
How the hell do you find mushrooms that fucking small? They are so tiny. I would have never seen them.. lol.

That one in the middle looks like the Ps. Cyanescens I find here in the upper midwest. I find loads along a woodchip trail that horses often ride. I have a picture in my book here if you want me to post it...I'm positive the ones i find here are the "common wood-chip Ps." and they stain dark blue. Cap-margin upturns when old but I'm just comparing, not saying thats what it is.:) Good find

Hi LK, nice find. It is definately not Psilocybe mamilata. HEre are the generic description for P. mamilata, a species which kinda resembles a liberty cap or even P. samuiensis.
Mj.
THe first page is the description and the second showls some line drawings.

mj
SEnd it to Gartz but be sure to give him the generic description, pelius, stipe, gills, sporeprint color, habitat and possible distribution, time of year, etc. Make sure he has enough info. Mr.g G. sent him specimens of his alleged martinensis mushroom and no description and Gartz was unabble to figure it out.

Hi again LK,
I took all of you images and corrected the colors in the photoshop. Here are images of picture two and three. Is this more to what they looked like when you picked them?
and
mj
How do they look now. I can repost the other four images if you prefer. The color is now more recognizable as a PSilocybe and thebluing shows good in that one image as compared to when you posted it.

don't you mean LK, not Thor?

I have logged in this once so that I can set the "last seen" feature up. let the faggots flow forth into OTD and have it. Its funny how they all grew nuts after I left. I'm not here, I'm not reading, but I urge you all to keep melting down over me. I know, I hurt alot of people, and they deserved it. epic win for me, epic fail for you.
ythan, you rock dude. i feel that my time at the shroomery was very positive and enjoyable, but this site is no longer for me. im not mad or upset or disappointed, i just want no part in a pg rated faggot festival.

guitarguy, Oh yes those are real psychoactive psilocybes.
Take it from someone who has eaten more than 56 varieities of the now more than 192 species of mushrooms known to contain psilocine and psilocybine.
Lk's use of the scanner led to darker images. I just hit the adjust color button in photoshop which corrects the color instantly.
If you knew the characteristics of the genus then you would see them in each photo.
mj
Again a great discovery LK
