I agree with is it that your afraid of death or are you afraid of how your going to die. Death untimly I bet is very horrifying, and it will probably be untimly to a certain degree, but that will be fear in which you'll have to overcome, its weird feeling to not be ready for what your not anticipating but you have to anticipate and be ready. Its like any other trip in life, you can have a bad trip, because you weren't prepared, or you can have a semi good trip if you are prepared, I've had my encounters also, and these times teach you what path not to go down, that is the paths with the encounters of your worst nightmare, but listen thats not whats deaths about I don't think, it'll be about transending this meaningless existence.

I'm not afraid of dying or really even how I'm going to. The only that scares me is who is going to be there when I go? Will it be someone I know? Will it be people who care for me? Will it be by the hands of a complete stranger? Will I lie there looking at a face I've never seen before, the last human face I'll ever see? That's what scares me. I don't want to die alone and I don't want to die in the midst of strangers.

I would prefer to die alone. Hopefully in a canyon or mountainside; somewhere in the natural world.

starve yourself and see what happens, that will solve your fear

most likely you'll get stuck in a looney bin like they did some other ppl i met

but yea i dont fear death, pain of intense and long proportions i fear to a small extent, although when i die i would like it to be incredibly painful, like a tug of war over a bed of broken glass (hopefully a long drawn out heart attack)

that way im conscious when i go (1) and (2) that way its like a competition between me and the forces that be...

I have no fear of death, and my valor has essentially been the cause of my demise. No illusions in the dark I am here not to live altruistically. I have no fear of death, to fear such a thing is cowardly; Purposefully striding though life making a difference in others vitality is what begets my immortality.

No false truths and wasted time frivolously vocalizing. We are all here to live and die, with aspiration reproduction in the process.
All I hope for is to make the transition between waiting to die and starting to live the beginning of many sentient beings futures.
I am a firm believer what you think is what you make happen. If you meander though life afraid of death it is certain you will make it your reality.

I have stared death in the face, staying 100 percent clam and clear is what enabled me to control how my survival unfolded, and emancipate my life. As someone once said to me, "You are either the luckiest person alive, or you are extremely talented." I don't believe it's either. IF you have control over your mind, you have control over your body; therefore, you have control over your existence.
Why waste time pondering reality, and the inevitable? We all will die.

I will anticipate death, but once again gaze into deaths eyes and express I am at peace with all creation... I have no fear of death.

My only distress is people wooing my death, and not embracing it.

It is not fear of death, or fear of life that concerns me. I want out - out of this 'Matrix' - the root of which is 'Mater' (Mother) and 'Matter.' I want out of this womb of earth and sky. I have been here for millennia and I weary of the same old same old. Perhaps not, perhaps I am simply sensitive in the extreme. In this lifetime I am trying to give back to humanity rather than merely trying to take.

You do err greatly. "Why waste time pondering reality[?]" - Waste?!!! The contemplation of Reality, of Ultimate Reality, which is called God is the very meaning of human existence. It is the Realization, the making Real of what is not Real. It is the bringing of Reality, of God, into a realm created by God where God is not.

I am not so sure it is the fear of nothingness after death that is the most terrifying or the fact that nothingness after death implies a limited time to experience life and spend time with those one loves.

I'm afraid too, and mushrooms didn't help that. I'm afraid that when I die, I'll suffer the same agonizing ego death I did on mushrooms, and then I'll black out and that's it forever.

I'm also afraid of the pain. If I had a heart attack or something like that, I don't want to be alive and aware when my heart isn't beating yet I'm still awake. I can't imagine how much pain is involved in death. I mean, you're DYING! It hurts to have bronchitis and cough, it hurts to get burned, it hurts to be pricked! If something is inflicted or happens to you and you DIE from it, that's gotta be more painful than anything. I'm definitely afraid to die.

It doesn't bother me at all. It did - when my philosophical perspective was that of the "great void" (perpetual nothingness/unconsciousness), which is why I began my search for the Gem of Wisdom.. for even when I did fear death, I knew wise men did not.

The pause between the breath,
in before out, is death.

Fading in, and fading out,
isn't that what life's about?
