one big mamma, maybe seven inches, and four or five aborts harvested today from my hydrapod. Equadorian strain, grown in alien tek substrate with coco husk instead of vermiculite. I'm about to eat three more aborts that have been drying for a day. This is my fourth attempt at growing, finally I have some good-looking fruit bodies to show for it. I used poor man's terrarium before the pod and was always too busy to keep the humidity up, I would grow some nasty looking aborts or very small, not at all potent mushrooms, so I'll report my mental status at 4:22 in case anyone is interested. I hope your trip was better than mine, I can't eat ecuadors of any dosage anymore because of the night i had semi-fresh ecuadors so I figured I'd need more, but in actuality the dose was around 1/4 ... I was literally scarred for two months after, and it gradually went away ... but I'll never eat them again.
My new favorite, however, is Ps. Australians ... BEAUTIFUL visuals .... unbelievable

I love psilocibin. I've never known the strain when buying from a dealer, but the trip was very much like every other one I've had (four), getting confused about something and literally going through looping spirals about it in my head and then coming back to the exact same place where I was before and laughing about it. I feel like this happens on every plane of my existence when I'm on mushrooms, and all throughout a pervading feeling that everything is alright, man. Absolutely everything. I have to "work" for visuals- if that means anything to you, for me everything is quite subtle but there's no way you forget about the way things are. Strangely, I could read books (slowly) but not a flatscreen monitor. The trip started coming on like ten minutes after I ate them, I love that! I went to school (university commuter) just to fill out a course evaluation form, I started crying on the bus because everything I saw coincided with everything I felt, heard, etc... everything in its right place, you know? I really think that people underestimate the power of these mushrooms. Probably not all of you on this site, but I really think that people should look into this as a therapy for addiction, or just to get high, to me it seems so obvious that pot and mushrooms are here for a reason. I think a lot of people would benefit. I wish I could give mushroom capsules to everyone on the street and say, "eat a handful when you have some time on your hands." Speaking of which, I thought that time was going a lot faster than it was, which I very much consider a benefit. I came down sort of abruptly when I got home, just because my grandparents were visiting, but smoked a little later and I'm sure many of you know how good that is. I was tripping hard for a good three hours, I sure under different circumstances, myabe at night with no public transportation, it would last much longer. Today I felt under the weather for sure, but that's due to 8:30 class, not enough sleep and no where near enough food. Remember to take care of your body after a trip, it's harder than you think on the system, but I think in a good way. You know how shamans and the old guys in tribes who trip are (I've never seen any, but stereotypically I suppose) strong and lithe? Tripping is a workout on every level of the universe! I just harvested two more today, they're going to a member of my commune. I am very happy with these mushrooms, of course the best part is that I grew them myself! Well, as much as I do anything else myself. They weren't as big as I've seen in pictures, but that's because I only have one cake and one casing in the pod (the casing was done in a ziploc sandwich bag from the contents of one partially colonized cake) and they've grown out of the casing which isn't as happy as it could have been, it got water droplets on it. There's a big fat mother growing out of the cake, unfortunately some of its stem grew into the casing so it's bruised, but that doesn't hurt it, right? These definitely exceeded my expecations, as I was wondering whether I would trip or not. I'm thinking of setting up a hydro ebb and flow system with air stones under the grow rocks and in the reservoir and a humidity dome and use that as my fruiting chamber, the hydrapod as an incubator. Expensive incubator, but I don't regret the purchase. A two foot by two foot square seems more conducive to spreading out more than three cakes than the bucket's diameter. I bet it will work too, I know a lot of research went into the pod, but even more went into the shroom, courtesy of Mother Nature. It seems to me that with two air pumps going they'll be happy. I noticed the same thing about Ecuadors they're the closest thing to street cubensis you get from a dealer I've tried. Only had em once and they blew my socks off. Very strong. Good trip but I ate a little to much.

About street cubinesis, I know what your talking about. But I have a different view on that matter, I believe that most people that get it from other people they know, they usually are getting ones that they have no clue what they are trying, there for it gives a general (simple) trip. But for people that actually have done some research, know a bit about the background and even some of the growth process, they might have a more complex and specific trip according to the characteristics told by online research. (i.e. Ecuadors will give more visuals than Puerto Ricans).\
That is ofcourse just my take on the view. I remember a while back when I didn't know much about it, and just ate it and saw visuals, but didn't have any other to compare it to from lack of knowledge. (Thanks shroomery!)

Glad you had a nice trip. I want to try Equadors bad. I bought a syringe once, and shot up 12 jars and they all fell to contams

I ate 3 1/2 grams of eq-s before I wen't to Amelie. Not that I didn't enjoy the trip, but I got no visuals or audio from them. It was a great overwhelming sense of euphoria, though. Like x without the side effects. I had grown them my self and gotten the spores from a vendor of good rep. So I knew they were what they were and that they weighed what they weighed. They were cracker crisp. I will move on from that strain now though. I'll try some golden teachers I have in the dessicant chamber. They'll be about 8-9 grams.

i don't feel ya on that call. seems to me it's more the person and the journey/enviornment/stimuli etc engendor the nature of the trip moreso than the strain. for while the strain may have some influence, i dont' think it's as influential as other factors.
like someone above said visuals off australianis, i had none...people have very different experiences with the same strains of ps. cub's. can't say for other types of mush though-- pans, copelendia's, azures, etc

I'm not understanding how the different strains could give different trips.. maybe in some ways.. but dont they all share the same psychoactive ingredients? I mean.. does one psychoactive determine the visuals and the other the head trip and the third (i hope im right about there being a third..) the body high or something? I'd think someone would've investigated that already, but.. if they all react the same, then how could different strains offer different trips?

I think different strains have more/less psilocybin? That could be why trips vary from species to species.

I happen to think that there is very little difference between the p.cubensis strains. The differences people talk about are mostly due to preconceived notions and the fact that its impossible to know the exact dose in mg of psilocin/cybin. So it does just come down to how much psilocybin you ingest. Synthetic would work identically.
[edit]: thats probably what you meant. strains just vary in amount.
