recently i have pondered writing something similar
depicting the various modes and types of interactions at shroomery
you did a great job
group consciousness is very complicated
especically with so many strangers of different ages
i'll tell you the way i see it, here at shroomery
there are 4 types of persons:
1. The Light
2. The Dark
3. The Grey
4. The Clear
1. People of Light are positive, they want to share and give & take.
They want to feel good and find entertainment here.
And ultimately what people are reaching for is honest healthy relationships with others in an online community.
People of the Light want to be seen, they want to be known, they want to give and be accepted, and they generally like other people, and they are tolerant of those who hate them (people of the light never hate anyone, they just might act like it sometimes, on a bad day)
Joy is linked to interpersonal interaction.
We all have fun things inside of us to share, but the Joy in them will always remain stale without a sympathizer, a friend who is interested in sparking that Joy with you.
The People of the Light bring with them powerful offerings of Truth & Wisdom. They bring unfettered Love and Healing for all to see.
These aren't egocentric bi-polar junky freaks. They are genius artists, and beautiful lovers, and Good on the inside.
The People of Light are usually Individuals, Odd Pillars that stand out, and tall. (sometimes cracked or graffiti, but still a marvel)
They constantly try to band together in Love, but things get in the way, and they get in the way for a reason. If a large band of the People of the Light were to emerge someplace online, it would strike a severe blow against The Liar. And this emergence is constantly kept squashed by the Grey.
The Dark has no power over the Light, but through it's constant influence within the Grey.
The Grey demands that both exist, both are valuable to create the space for Grey to poise its own existence.
2. The People of the Dark are usually young males age 19-28, usually single, or in dysfunctional relationships with family and friends.
They like to take, they come seeking to remedy their malcontent because they enjoy drugs(who doesn't?) and there is alot of thrills to be had at shroomery. They come here to take that in, it brings them pleasure.
The People of the Dark will also give.
But what they give is usually negative, an egotistical judgement, a disgusting picture that is supposed to be funny, or they will make observations or comments about things that don't even really intrest them, they just like to talk, and interrupt, and cause chaos.
All flamers & trolls are Dark People.
As i said, Dark People will give and take, but they don't share.
And when they give, it gives a feeling of them trying to cram it down your throat while they smugly smirk themselves at how cool they are.
Often they aren't even aware of the terrible quality of their disruptions, they really don't even know they are doing it sometimes.
Because the truth is, there is a force inherent to the Darkness that lends itself to get in the way of the transmission of Joy and Beauty, and Light.(unbeknownst to the perpetrator)
(in every instance, the darkness always rises trying to take over the light, to consume it and obliterate it, but every time it fails. on the message board there may be no sign of their failure, but it happens, during the day sometime in their real lives)
Dark People always form into little groups, and they work together to disrupt the patterns of the light, to black out the miracle.
And, they never actually realize what they are doing.
The Liar tempts them with a reward of a feeling of power, to write their nonsense cruelty as best they can, and then they all pat each other on the backs for what they've done, thinking it's cool. Thinking that their victim is indeed a moron, or fag, or whatever they are harassing him about.
The Dark People never actually know what is moving beneath the surface, they don't realize the full extent of their actions, they have no idea that they are just being pawns of the Darkness, to stop Joy & Peace.
The Light never hates the Dark, because the Light knows that they are just people who don't know what they're doing, they are ignorant or dysfunctional.
They ignore using time to learn new skills of communication, to enjoy the community more. They usually are just here for some instant gratification which comes in the form of dirty jokes, or stories of getting totally wasted on drugs. or maybe venting about how they hate jesus.
The Light & Dark do exist in a polarity, and most of the flaming going on is against the light.
True retards don't get flamed much, because they are in with the troll crowd.
And good people don't stoop down to that level to war with them, it's ridiculous to ever try, a waste of time which should be spent focused on beautiful things.
(The Light always tries to help dysfunctional people too, and sometimes helping them means stepping down to there level)
The Dark People are demonized, probably into computer porn, disrespecting women, like their mothers or sisters or daughters.
They are intensely egotistical but always deny the fact that they are.
They have alot of fear and doubt in them.
They never really notice if you expose the truth about who they are, because they don't really know who they are, they are sorta inbetween deciding who they are. This is what makes them such easy targets for The Liar to tempt them into buisness with him.
One thing that always gives away The Dark people-
They cannot negotiate.
They lack any true skills of Negotiation.
And they always will chose obliteration over negotiation.
3. The Grey People are not sided with the Light or Dark.
They are sort of neutral, they may exhibit both behaviors of Light or Dark, on and off as the energies move them.
Grey People think of themselves as down to earth by comparison to the light or dark extremes. they feel balanced.
but the whole time they are riding the fence, they are less brilliant than the Light, and less vicious as the Dark.
They are typically boring, average, trendy, common. nice enough, but not overly lovable either.
They form their own group, because the Light and Dark tend to avoid them. The Grey choose no sides. they see the extremities as nonsense, but what lies between, they look at the black and white, and they pull grey from it.
so the Grey People like to take from the black and white
but they only give to the Grey.
4. The Clear.
The Clear are totally neutral. they set outside the realm of grey or black & white. they just sit and watch it all pass by, never getting seriously involved with anything in particular, but enjoying most all of it nonetheless.
There is great wisdom in the Clear People too.
They are often genius, but instead of Art, it's Academics.
They are scholarly but not pompous about it.
They love to give, but not share.
The joy they get from giving is more than the joy from you taking it.
They aren't giving to be nice anyone really, they are giving to enjoy themselves.
They take but mostly like to keep it private what they take.
Clear people are semi-intelligent and mostly kinda square, normal, reserved, or conservative.
They love everything as much as they can, but they are kinda dysfunctional in their own way because they never fit in.
For example a great chemist might help someone with their project their working on.
And the person he helps says, "wow, thank you, you're the greatest, and so smart, i love you"
The chemist doesn't care, it doesn't motivate a friendship, it's not a splendid moment of joy for him.
He only helped the guy because it brought him personal satisfaction, he could care less about the boys project.
Love or affection doesn't motivate the Clear People, as it does the Light.
Clear people usually think light, dark, and clear are all kinda boring, that is why they never join a faction.
There is alot of confusion between the factions.
The only ones who can bring order are the Light or Clear.
But the Clear won't do it, they never get involved.
Clear People make the best moderaters, but you'll never find one motivated to become one, they don't care.
you'd have to beg them, then maybe they would, and you'd have a good one.
that is a problem, Light can't moderate because if it did, everyone would turn Light.
Dark can't moderate because they just don't think rationally.
Dark is least intelligent, and most forceful and brutal.
So Mods are always grey.
