Calling all Iron Maiden fans.....

If you live in Calgary or can get here quick, there's a "tribue to Iron Maiden" band playing tonite at Sait.... they're called Edward the Great.

They're freakin' awesome... check 'em out if you're in the area!

one year my brother and i collected cans on the beach at night to get tickets to an maiden/queensrhyce/rob halford show at irvine meadows... we got the cheap lawn tickets for $70 and they kept lighting fires.. . so natrualy we pitted on a 45 degree angle...

lots of smoke, and if you fell down, you fucking slid quick... security kept putting the fire out, then walking away till someone lit it up again... but they'd let us pit for a few minutes before they stomped it out...

bruce got boo'd when he was all like "were not the kind of band that wants to live in the past and play old songs..." and then they kept gettin boo'd the whole time they were playing the new-er songs.. they eventualy started with some older stuff, but the energy was already gone...

they get a little old... they were cool at one time, and i can listen to them every now and again...

first album: No Prayer for the Dying
then people started giving me maiden cd's left and right... i couldnt keep up with listening to them... then i got the first 2 albums.. and then they sorta faded away after that... but i got out of metal on the whole, mostly...

Awe, you're such a trooper! You know you've always loved 'em. I'll admit, they're one of those bands whose music you could "put in storage" for a while, but every now and again, you get a jones-en for them.

You're gonna have a good time with all that!
