no shrooms.please help.

I* am using the Shroom Wizard's Tek. It is now a little more than 2 weeks after the time I removed the lids. All the mycelium has receded from the surface.No pinning. They are in a small closet. My house is 75 degrees, but I think the closet is a little colder. I mist them about 3 times a day. I tried a humidifier for 2 days. nothing. The wizard said my soil could be compacted, so I raked all of the topsoil in my trays with a clean fork. I have some green mold on the side of some of my trays, and I scoop it out. The wizard said they do not need light, but I read elsewhere that they could need some light, so I leave the closet light on for 6 hours a day.
What went wrong? Can they still be saved? Should I cold shock them? How long do I have to leave them in the fridge to cold shock them? Any suggestions would help.

Sounds like you may not have done your homework on cultivation teks, I did the same thing the first time, the same tek too. That tek is good if you live where the ambient humidity is high enough for fruiting (ie. FL, equatorial regions). I live in New England and my first attempt failed miserably on account of the low humidity. You should look into an air tight humidifacation tek or put what remaining trays in a container (aquarium, etc.). Try using perlite for the first or second time. Also be careful not to spray the trays directly as it will damage the mycelium and impede fruiting. I wouldn'y sacrifice what you have but do a bit more reading on humidification. Everyone claims they know the best way but when it comes down to it there are just too many variables to have a perfect tek for any given region, elevation, person, etc. Good luck, and keep trying.
