Quote:
Many nowadays are using chemical or mechanical tools to attempt to force states of consciousness. They may enter altered states of consciousness; but this is not meditation. Meditation is the science of activating, through conscious willpower, the dormant consciousness that resides in the psyche of every human being. To activate this consciousness is to open one's inner perception, to see what cannot be seen with the physical sight. Those who seek to activate this consciousness through drugs or machines do so through an artifice, meaning through the will of an external influence. This leads to grave problems.
Thus amidst the minefield the brave one must venture.
Every, bleedin', time I read a book or a document or an article about meditation, they're always slamming the use of psychedelics, talking about "how fake" it all is, or "useless" and bollocks.
Their miniscule sultana minds can't even grasp the sheer spiritual power enabled when one does DMT or mushrooms or LSD.
You can use meditation to steer your thoughts, to compliment the shamanic and psychedelic experience, but it's an unfair generalisation they always make about us and how we "can't appreciate the experience" or "cant interpret it properly" or "aren't ready" or "mind isnt cleared enough".
Lets face it, most people who publish these guides are just out to make money and keep you hooked and subscribed to their pretentious, superficially "spiritual meditation" programmes....
/end rant

well what comes from inebriation really is different than what comes from meditation. psychedelic provides manifestation and broils the mind in its own turbulence, even when everything is calm and magnificent. meditation produces less manifestation. however after a good stint of meditation, psychedelic is way better than before. the material that becomes layered and layered is more orderly and pliable. they are very different processes, layering comes into both but differently. time dilation and epiphany come into both but differently. experience in both are valuable.

I didn't hear any arrogance or drug bashing in that quote.
He was simply stating a fact. There is a very distinct difference between meditating and taking psychedelics.
Me thinks someone has a chip on their shoulder.
