At what point durring growth are the psychoactives the most prevailent in cubensis mushrooms?
I know aborts have more, but would a growing mushroom which is the size of an abort have the same concentration?
Does the amount of chem.s decrease as a mushroom drops spores?
I ask this to correctly harvest the shroomies, as my last dose of 6-9 dried grams didn't make me trip. Perhaps the shrooms were allowed to grow too long and psilocyn/psilocybin levels dropped off?
Thanks

From what I've read, mushrooms have both psylocin and psylocibin as psychoactive chemicals. Neither decrease at any point during mushroom growth. It's just that they stop increasing, so after a certain point (when the veil underneath the cap separates from the stalk) it isn't worth to let the shroom keep growing, because it will not become significantly more psychoactive, while it does become nastier tasting.
After cultivation, it's a different story, and perhaps that's why you didn't trip. Mushrooms must be dried without using any heat, since it breaks down both psylocibin and psylocin. However, regardless of how you dry them, psylocin is less stable than psylocibin and breaks down with any form of drying. There is much controversy on this last point, which is why I will ask about it in another post to see if anyone has the definitive answer on psylocin breakdown.
All this I've written from research. From personal experience, shrooms DO decrease in potency when dried, DO become uglier as they grow, and DON'T increase in potency after a certain point.
So bite the bullet and eat them fresh.

Well, from what I've read, psilocin doesn't decrease too much durring drying. If it did, the mushrooms would turn noticeably blue. So, if you dry them, and they don't turn very blue, very little psilocin has oxidized, so they should be potent.
To test this out, I left a shroomy out on a plate over night. It turned a dark metalic blue. However, when I put others on a plate, with a fan blowing on them, they didn't have very noticable blueing, indicating that very little psilocin was oxidized.
I think it's me. Maybe I just need a massive amount to trip. The shroomies were grown and dried as per the tek instructions, but there was no tripping involved. this problem must be rectified, but I don't know where to start, as no deviations were made from the tek to correct. So that leaves me with nowhere to even start to solve the problem of obvious im-potency (can I use this word here?oh well) of the mushrooms
