I've tripped hard from mycelium alone. I don't know if it has as much psilocybin as the mushrooms themselves but I'm sure it's comparable, it makes sense to me being that it's all the same fungus. There is a good tech for growing mycelium on just grain alone and then getting the psilocybin out of it by making a tea from it using cranberry juice and citric acid, it's titled "The Foolproof Psylocybe Cubensis Mycelial Culture
Technique" you can find it in the Lycaeum.

My friend tried that cranberry stuff, and it was actually pretty weak. Even a whole jar wasn't very good. So he decided to just take the nicely colonized rye, use it to inoculate cakes, also a bale of timothy hay, and now the cakes are doing great and the hay is coming along. So if it works for your friend, let us know.
