Zippoz, are you planning on doing all this retrofitting yourself? Do you have the tools, shop and experience to pull it off without totally frustrating yourself or damaging the vehicle?

yeah, im pretty good with cars, i have done lots and lots of research into this retrofitting, and will actually be using a kit, with instructions.

older diesel engines are very easy to work with.

a group i'm working with just got a grant for $400,000 to supply western michigan university with bio-diesel, mostly for maintenance vehicles. we were a footnote in a grant from the env. sciences department, and will be able to use this start-up money to get a co-op going here.

you're more than welcome to come and fuel up from us whenever :smile:

no problems with the 6.2 diesel. might want a turbo for mountain travels especially if trailering

the coolest thing is - the vegi exhaust smells kind of like french fries.

Here's a pic of my bus:



It was my dream to fix it up and travel accross Canada with it but the dream has died. I came to the conclusion that is would take atleast 5 grand and alot of work to get everything fixed up. That's way more than I can realistically afford anytime soon. It sucks cause it's a cool old bus and I hate to sell it. It's a 1964 and is totally camperized; bed, table, fridge, sink, stove, oven, cubbords, etc. Even has power bucket seats out of a '92 camaro! Anyways, I have an ad in the paper as of next week to get it sold as the guy who is storing it for me wants it out.

yeah if anyone wants a rind to roo and to the ne and back, i will have plenty of space, i think that i will leagelly be able to hold 10 total people when i covert to RV, that is if it is still working

i could use some bio, hell, lots of it for my upcommming trip.
truth be told im going to need 300 gallons of fuel round trip
but can get veggie in tampa, i just need a lil osmthing to get me there.

i can hold form 30-40 in the tank, and have 2 plastic drums that i can secure in the vehicle to hold more, their combined capacity is 35 gallons. as of now.

i'll most probably be going to bonnaroo, and could maybe see about getting a small group from our co-op going down to pass out bio-diesel info or whatever.. crashing out now, but get in touch and we'll see how we can work together on this :smile:

there are forums on our site (kzoobiofuels.org) - feel free to register and start any discussion about what you would be wanting, how you would want to contribute, news about biodiesel, or whatever!
