He is. The Holy Trinity are one and the same.

then why did jesus refer to God as his father and why he did he say that he of his own self could do nothing? at least, wouldn't it be more correct to say the trinity was your only God? and are you saying that jesus is somehow different from ordinary men (aside from the fact that he became the christ)?

Jesus never 'became' Christ. He always was. He was the Lord and Saviour in human form.

Believing in Christ opposed to believing in the Trinity (which is still, as I said, the same thing) is being Christian. You accept the teachings of Jesus as the only way to your life, primarily the teachings of the New Testament. In order to believe in God, you have to accept Jesus.

Tell me if I am not making it clear enough.

i don't believe that the words jesus christ and God can be used interchangeably. if that were so why would jesus have said he of his own self could do nothing?

If you are laughing in derision, then it is because you do not understand the deep implications carried by the Western myths. You are reading them with the same literalism as the ones you have contempt for, but you are selecting not to believe them literally, while the others do.

That is a good first step for you, but you have simply made the mistake that Western seekers have been doing throught my own lifetime - throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Instead of asking about what the myths 'Really' mean, you have simply dismissed them and gone shopping in the East. I did this too, as did many of my generation, but the division line is not hard and fast. An esoteric approach to Western myth reveals an 'archetypal' dimension which is inwardly indistinguishable (phenomenologically), and different only on the outer, intellectual, doctrinal level. The greater majority of youthful seekers in my generation fell away from spiritual lifestyles entirely, because 'lotus blossoms' do not take root in the 'soil' of the Western psyche. Eastern attitudes do not hold up well under the pressure of Western values and culture. Those kids who were scrubbing ashram bathroom floors with a toothbrush, ostensibly to learn Karma Yoga, are proud to be driving their new BMWs and Mercedes-Benz automobiles today.

Why not take a look at the book The Jesus Mysteries in order to get an idea about the true, early Christian experimental attitude of spirituality before doctrine was imposed on the world by the Unholy Roman Empire. See for yourself the phenomenology of Gnostic Christian spirituality vs. Literalist (among which is the right wing of Literalism - Fundamentalism) Christianity.

Most religions teach about acceptance of others and love others as you would love yourself (blah blah blah)...the ironic thing is people are so quick to judge and ridicule other people's religion, while claiming to be "religious".
When will the hypocrisy end???

I think the same thing when I think about Jerusalem, wouldn't GOD be thrilled to see his people slaughtering each other for some land? Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of his teachings?
WoW, just wow.

So fuckin' what? Perhaps we can create a gold medal for you to hoist up to the skies, and perhaps the extravagant reflections of shining light that the Sun directs at it will blind us all.

Ideas stand up upon their own right.

Well, part of the difficulty is that you seem to be reading the Biblical stories literally instead of 'midrashically,' as they were no doubt intended by the ancients. Modern people forget that the ancient writiers neither thought nor wrote with the intentional journalistic and scientific-historical precision that we moderns take for granted. Cubits were in, rulers were not.

Read esoterically, any of the inner-directed (i.e., mystics) of any of the religions recognize one another. They understand that doctrines are mere scaffolding around an immense Reality; that we are all climbing on various doctrines to get a higher, wider, closer look at an incomprehensible Reality. The uninitiated multitudes who take the doctrines fro the Reality are only gonna see each other's scaffolding - which is different. They are the masses who look at your finger when you point to the moon. The initiated know the difference between outer forms and inner realities, but such people have always been in the small minority, and the outspoken ones have usually been persecuted or executed.
