Perlite contamination??????

I am having problems with fruiting. My cakes fruit a very small amount (ussually around 1/2 an eighth per cake). And they never last more than 2 flushes (if lucky). To my knowledge everything is perfect, perfect temperature, perfect humidity (perlite), and proper water intake (water injection through straws twice a day). The only reason for the lack of fruiting that I can think of is that maybe the perlite is contaminating the cakes. The perlite has been in the terrarium for about 3 weeks and I rest the cakes directly on the perlite. Could I be giving them too much water??? The race is PF and I use the 1/2 pint jars with vermiculite and brown rice flakes. There has to be a good reason why my shit just doesn't produce.

Hey guys, quick question. I have some perlite Sitting in my tool shed it looks use able for my fruiting chamber, however there is a speck here and a speck there of topsoil. Do you think this would be ok?
