As for the makeup thing, to make my self atleast appear more native, its a damn good idea. Along with native clothing. I would probably attempt to disguise myself as an old man, or homeless person (assuming that there are a decent amount in bagdhad that i could attempt to blend in with). Somthing that is disregarded by society and not takled much to.

on top of the kevlar i would porobably pick up a flak jacked for $70 at the local army surplus store... All of this would have to be under local garb which from what i understand is generally loose fitting and would allow me to conceal the vest and jacket...

Im debating how much a body gaurd would cost as well as Arming my self lightly with atleast a handun or 2 but getting them into the courtry, or having them while crossing the border are 2 tricky situations...

Will i do this, probablay not. but it is up for debate.

I feel that what is happening in bagdhad is a problem crerated by the american military. And as a tax paying amemrican and so forth, that problem lies on me and every other american. at the very least i would like to go there and observe the civilisation who's destruction falls on my shoulders.

actually the round trip ticket to and from kuwait city is $1600

And my trip wont be one way. i will come back alive.

one of my best friends and former shroomerite, rihadifabike, went to Iraq with the Army reserves... He was on a Humvee when it was hit by and RPG killing another guy from my high school.

rihadifabike died last summer of congestive heart failure, and when they did the autopsy, they found bone fragments all throughout his body from the other kid who was killed.

both would be useless against anything you're likely to encounter, flack jackets
will stop shrapnel, some anyway, and kevlar will stop bullets from a hand gun
you'll encounter more rifles than anything, look into spectrashield

Haha.. come now, this is just a plain silly idea that will never ever even get ground outside of this thread. Makeup? Everyday? When you bath? Sleep? Eat? Shit? Where will you do these things? Going to drop the costume in the privacy of your own.. home? Without even speaking any Arabic? (How many languages do you speak? Do you know any that are as drastically different from English as Arabic? Can you even say an Arabic letter?)

yes and lets not forget the fact that it's usually about a hundred degrees in iraq. so with his kevlar vest, flak jacket, and all the garbs to conceal his armor i'd imagine he'd sweat off all the makeup in about...hmm maybe 45 minutes.

the plan is fool proof!  :laugh:

seriously, just donate 3000 dollars to a worthy cause. or volunteer for the peace corps or something...this iraq plan is just an idiotic waste of money and time. it's like some sort of self served guilt trip. do something useful with your money and stay alive.

Why don't you join the Canadian army?

If you go infantry, you'll be in Afghanstan the day after your battle school graduation. You'll be going on a peacekeeping mission, tho...it's not soldiering.
