New Feature: Post Autosave

If you make a lot of posts on the BB, chances are you've lost a few as well. Your browser will crash, or you'll close the window by mistake, or our server will glitch and it won't go through (perish the thought!) When you spend a long time on a perfectly crafted post, it's frustrating to lose it all in the blink of an eye. So, I've added a new feature to the BB which will hopefully help prevent this.

Now, whenever you're working on a thread or reply, it will periodically and transparently be saved to our server. If you experience a problem, just go back to the same page within an hour and the most recent copy of your post will be waiting for you. By default it is backed up at five minute intervals, but you can change this from your basic preferences. Setting the interval to "0" disables autosave.

I hope people find this feature useful! It's one of those things you probably won't encounter often, but when you do it could be a real help.

I can't count how many times I've clicked out of the text box, hit the "backspace" key thinking I was editing some text and BOOM, my browser goes back a page, often enough not saving the previous content when I return forward a page :frown:

Yep, been there, done that. I've taken to keeping a temp backup in notepad whenever a post gets long enough to make me nervous.

This new feature rocks!

I think the feature is great! However... :smile:
Since it was turned on, whenever I try to page backwards, I now get to pages that flash a window that says the previous page contains postdata, and I can't go any further back than that.
I disabled it in my preferences, but it does not affect that part.
It's kind of annoying cause it limits the pages I can scan back to only a few pages.
Is this a flaw, or can we defeat this option?
