 BB upgrade problems, questions? Post here.

The BB has no been upgraded, there are still bugs that need to be fixed though.
However if you find a problem or think something needs to be changed please let us know here.
So far we are aware of the 'reply to' feature is no longer there, we do want to bring that back so please be patient while its resolved.
Also sending PMs is not working right now, however this is a high priority so it should be fixed soon.
Also the new colour schemes have changed every skin a little, as they now incorporate a shaded subject field for unread topics.. We will start looking into that as we have time.
Thanks for your patience, 3dshroom is working hard on getting everything smoothed out.

the only 'bug' i face is about ratings. where r they now?
btw, is there somewhere to read and understand exactly how ratings work? i dont really care, its more about discussing  i always have a 3 star rating and when someone votes 5 stars for me, i have 4 stars and then the next day i have 3 stars again lol lol lol i am just mentioning this, for its obvious a bug, othewise someone hates me and rates me always on 2 lol lol

I just rated you a 5 (AGAIN) LOL!! Apparently in the upgrade, the "who rated who" history got wiped out... (along with address books).

When i first started on this forum i clicked on a thread that had a (2) or something on it showing that it had new posts. It used to remove those numbers once i read the new posts. For some reason it stay even after i read, later it goes away but why after i read now? It may be something i have done but i dont know, just wondering.

Click on a persons user name and you'll be taken to a page where you can rate that person.
All votes are averaged out and is represented by the number of mushrooms under the user names. Hold your cursor over the mushrooms and you see how many people rated you.

It was in its testing phase, matts was working on a new rating system that allowed users to post feedback, and also rates now would be seen by the user you rate.
Its being expanded (the idea) to create a similar system like they use at overgrow, called Karma... Where a person with high karma can give more karma than say a new user who has now karma..

They are still there. They have just been changed so that when you make a post you need to click the "Add this thread to my favorites." box.. All email notifications on done on your favorite threads now.

It's a pain because you get ALL replies to EVERY POST in the entire thread e-mailed to you (including your own!), instead of just what's replied to your own post. ?I need not be notified of replies to others, just to my posts, as it was before.? It was perfect, now I'm getting flooded with e-mails I have no concern with.

Not only that, but my "favorite threads" are no longer my favorites, but ALL threads I post to that I want notification of replies in.

The search is the old search. Meaning we don't have the ability to search for key words by a particular member. At that, I'm not sure it's even working right anyway. Example, I searched for posts by me, and found none. Does this have anything to do with searching by "display name" vs. "username" which is what it used to say?
Gotta have the search working right, what else are we going to tell newBs? Also, gotta be able to search for keywords by a user, example I've told lotsa people to do a search for posts by sixtango using keyword millet. Can't do that now.
And a suggestion, is there a software program that could be run to suggest ways to shorten posts without changing meaning? Would be great for a long-winded fool like myself...j/k

I agree with everyone else. I don't feel like marking every damn post of mine a favorite. Just send me an e-mail for ANY reply to ALL my posts.
Also, I agree with Mr. Mushrooms that a time limit for editing makes no sense. It's my post, and I should be able to make it as good as possible, or delete it, or whatever at any time I like.
And what happened to the ratings? Every now and then I change my opinion of someone. Why can't I change my ratings of them anymore? Edit: Ok, I just noticed you plan to fix this one - cool.

If you want to find your posts, you will have to eneter the number 106604 instead of your username....

I don't know if this should be in this post, but I get this error message a few times a day now. It never used to seem to be that much until the last week or 2. I know others have had the same problems, and I was just wondering if this is something that can be addressed, or something that we just have to deal with?

Isn't 'plagued' a little strong of a word? How often do you see this a day? I know it happened once today.. it's just the mysql server being too busy to clear your old connection. So it gives you the "Too many connections" error.

So is this going to be the norm, or is there anything you can do? (I'm not trying to come off like a dick) I'm just curious. I could deal with it before because it didn't happen so much, but now it seems to be more regular.

Since the last upgrade the site seems to run very slowly about 30 - 40% of the time. If I jump to another site, that site will load as quickly as normal for it.
I have cable so I don't think that is a factor.
Is there something about the new setup that could possibly be causing this?

I too also liked it better when I got email notices when someone replied directly to one of my posts.
As it is right now, I don't get email when someone replies to a thread on my favorites list.
P.S. Overgrow's Karma system sucks. Please stop trying to be like Overgrow.

The user rating system we have now sucks, Karma system or the way it works is much better.
Ours will be unique, but anything to change the way the current system works is an improvement.

Could you at least limit how much influence a member with more karma has?
There seem to be a lot of people with relatively high karma who are just jackasses. None of them had really high K, all of my experiences with those people have been positive, it's the folks with 4-5 bars who tend to be "karma bullies".
Or more precisely, I guess, the Karma bullies tend to be people with 4-5 karma bars.
Maybe give the high K people more votes, but they can't change one person's Karma any more than anyone else.

i ve got problem with my PMs once again. I love the new system that has a filter option, but although i have more than 270 pms, i can see only the first page. The 'previous' and 'next' links simply doesnt work.
