That's because he saw communism as a natural state of existence. There was no need for him to elaborate some vision for society at that point, because the society would simply organically evolve into a state where people could realize their full human potential. He didn't venture to predict what that would look like because he didn't presume to imagine the amount of potential people had, except that he probably imagined that is was great beyond his imagination. One can get a basic idea of what communism is by looking at what he considered to be the primitive communism of early man. No one owned the land, and the means of production(tools) were shared in common.

There are several. There's a monument in Hiroshima. The now useless agriculture fields in Vietnam. The destruction and tattered Central American region, larger than any possible anti-communist "monument." Allende has a few statues in Chile as well, I believe.

There is also the Haymarket Square memorial.

Why such horror? They're all atrocities. Duh.

The point is it is silly to construct a monument in the name of the victims of communism. What if China constructed a similiar monument dedicated to capitalism(not that China is communist)? It would be completely ridiculous just as this is.
