Actually if you read the first response on that page, it brings up an interesting point: Windows did not lose "almost every" test. It lost some (OF COURSE, IT'S WINDOWS!) but actually beat the *NIX platforms in several tests.

I've been using Linux for over a decade but I have never once sat down in front of a bona fide unix box

I fail to see how the OS matters when using an assembly benchmark.
