Is there such thing as "too far gone?" * 1
    #4900265 -

Every time it seems I'm too far gone, I realize I haven't gone far enough.

What about you?

i can relate. at least, i think i know what your saying.

martin luther king i think it was , said "our greatest fear is not that we are weak, but that we are powerfull beyond all measure" ...

i think this is true. When we begin the process of waking up, reality begins to bend and change to suit our will, so to speak. we begin to live in our role as co-creators. this can be SCARY AS HELL. realizing your own power means realizing your own responsibility... the impulse is to shut down, shut it out...

this is something i am struggeling against.

You are experiencing this phenomenon because you are living in an inverted world

Okay, two things...

I had a synchronicity just now...because you see, one of the things I have been doing to motiviate myself is to say, "use your power." Well, I said it to myself just then (I'm preparing to go on a walk), and then I read your quote from Martin Luther King (essentially revealing to mankind a truth about power, in my opinion) who I have just about fallen in love with at this exact second for saying that.

Oh my god, I "get" what you said completely. On my most terrifying trip ever, I realized this and it went against EVERYTHING I had been taught. In my trip the sensation of burdon grew so heavy it was like I was holding the entire universe in my head, my consciousness went so expansive. And then *I* started getting peeled. Me? The Universe? All the power in the universe? Wait a moment, that would make me....

G O D.....

Whoa, talk about a moment of pure terror when my ego realized it was about to go. I will never, ever forget the fear. I am sort of fascinated by it now, in fact. After that trip I did everything I could to understand what went on.

Now I think I've gotten a peek of some of it.

oversimplifying?

but except as it could seem a bravado challenge to dose,
to transcend yoursef is certainly the bodhisattva way.

you just described my scariest trip ever perfectly. the exact same feelings and sensations went through my head, the exact same realization.

scary shit. that sensation, and more than that, that experience of BEING GOD... it was real to me. i was watching my thoughts manifest in the physical plane.. it was horrifying.

I think it was horrifying because psychadelics speed up the process so exponentially... its like going from being a pedestrian to flying an 5-16 in the space of a few hours... its not natural... but it certainly helped give me an idea of what lies ahead...

now im working on following the slow natural process... but the time may come for another vision trip soon...

I don't like going too far. I can't help but feel I'm really crossing dangerous lines. I think there will be a place for that kind of trip one day in my life, but I just ain't ready yet, and I feel that every time I go too far, besides spending tremendous energy to hold the trip down, my next trips are a slow process of raising confidence levels back to normal. It does seem however that "going too far" trips come in moments when I really need to be shaken and "realize" there's something in my path that has to change drastically.

there's also something that I'm constantly reminded of in this trips: "a little goes a long way". moderation and subtlety. "be gentle with the plant, and it will be gentle with you".
if you effectively combine shrooms and ayahuasca, I don't think there's any other way round it.
mckenna once said he combined half his usual dosage of each and thought that time he really had done it, he went through the most horrible trip and never tried it again.
like him I also feel that in heavy trips you really open doors and gates of unimaginable power. like him my reaction when faced with such is not touching, just looking. because I feel there's real danger and if you don't know exactly what you're doing you may screw up for real.

about the feeling of ever increasing personal power, I had a trip in which I was designing the future. I was writing down that the education of children should include astronomy, that in esoteric schools we'd learn for real, that the next age will take life in a solar shift from the day to the night and school would be dancing, designing and learning all at once. I was expanding enthusiastically on this ideas until I saw myself in a council discussing the future of life. Here I started getting scared. I started seeing myself as a dictator imposing ideas on others. "I don't want power, what the fuck am I doing?" and down I went to a severe bad trip moment until I asked for help and slowly it all stopped.
this trip I realized I had to learn about power if I wanted further progress in my spiritual path. I started reading the silmarillion and went back to finish my castaneda readings, which I had interrupted the moment I felt they were interfering with my trips. it became very clear after I read three of his books in spanish. I would start talking to myself in spanish during the trips. and my path was never about sorcery and spirits(alleys, inorganic beings, whatever you call it), so I thought that was a bad influence. one of the "too far gone" trips however I was very clearly told one thing: "in the jungle, once you chose a path, you must take it to the end, only then will you know the true value of your choice".

The extraordinary and the ordinary are simple -
all the phonomena are the same.
In a wonderland of heavens, forests, leaves,
Make your heart a living, truthful flame.

Mind not those who say ' Be fruitful '
They do not know from whence it came;

It is simpler and better to be youthful -
All our best traits do not vanish with age.

^^ Far enough to completely change oneself? Maybe. I think we just level up. Level up too much and you have no place going back to where you started. There may be nothing to go back to, or the opportunity to go back is slips through your fingers.
