Well here are some photos from the 12th of December from Capital Hill in Seattle, Washington.
and another shot from a different angle:
And finally a dried cluster of smaller shrooms.
ASnyway this is to show people that the shrooms are still coming up in the right places. Good luck if you are out looking.

as of this morning the cyans are still popping in b'ham!
heavy hail at about 5 in the morning this morning didnt deter me from finding probably 1/2 wet pound at a favorite spot of mine

I wrote Guzman months ago about sending me a copy of the paper. I have not heard back form him since.
WEhen I do I will post the information.

Hi and thanks for the comments.
Yes they are still coming up but the main fruitings are opver, except for P. stuntzii in lawns which can fruit all year if the eeather conditions are right.
Be on the lookout for P. cyan babies. Thats about all right now, unless you find a patch not found of bigger ones.
Also I just heard from Gartz about the mushrooms I found at REI in KEnt.
They are definitly a new species related to Psilocybhe bohemica from Seribia.

It seems to be coming to a close. Found a nice patch in along the sidewalk in Magnolia near the Ballard locks. Well it would have been nice if someone had gotten to them a couple weeks prior alot of decayed ones but about 30 nice ones. Found only one at Ballard Blocks. All the little pins that have poked up in other places seemed to have tapered off since I didnt see any more pins after the last pick. I like the little ones like in mjshroomsters pictures better than the big ones.

I apoligise for bumping this very old thread... but I have been doing a little research about one 'shroom that I have found growing in a lawn in eastern Kentucky. (would take a pic- but it's already dry)
It resembles a Psilocybe cyanescen except it does not stain blue.. It is brown with slightly pronouced inner darker circle (where other 'shrooms have a niple)- the gills are dark brown and (most importatly) the spore print is very dark black.
I found this in eastern Kentucky. What has me puzzled is how it can look so much like "magic" yet it dosent stain blue.
Any opinions based on that little bit of info gang?

Hello Jammer,
Two months agon Guzman rquesed my address to send me the very papers on the Kentucky finds and on the renaming of the 6 Hypholoma psilocybian species. I have nto heard form him since except in regard to the P. violacea, as yet unidentified and unnamed.
He is forgetful and still has not worked on the taxonomy of two more new speies I discovered.
I is possible I will have some mail when I get home.
Sked again in bout thtrreee weekss.

The season started!!
These are from the first flush of Cyanscens growing in a field in the Betuwe in the Netherlands.
It's about 140 grams wet.
I've found they taste quite good fresh from the field. Only nice looking young ones of course.
