Well, I'll say in advance that I've never found a Psilocybe cyanescens so don't laugh if this is not a very good look-a-like (laugh hard if they're actually a real!) I'll put in an image I found on the shroomery that looks similair to these, so you'll know why I called them look-a-likes. Anyway, notice that white dust on the caps? What on earth is that? It's also on the grass behind them, giving the impression they where sprayed with something. It's a bit hard to see, but every cluster of these mushrooms I found had a fine white powder over them and the surrounding folliage. Many had been ripped out of the ground and stomped on! These where found on my University campus. An I.D. on these would be great! Look-a-like Psilocybe cyanescens

Looks like we have the same mushroom, but your looks like it's going blue around the edges of the cap.

Well WOmbat, there is a lot of diffeence, the primary one being the gill color is not chocolate violet brown anbd the stems on your shrooms are not a solid white and they do not stain blue when damage. The caps also do not have umbos on them and many shrooms are hygrophanous (chainging color as they dry) Your mushroom also has a white ring (veil remnant) left hanging on the stem of one of your shroms and P. cyanescens has no veil present and the shapes of the gills are decurrant while P. cyanescens gills are subdecurrent. But al in all it is a good example of a look-a-like shroom. mj
Have a shroomy day and may all of your days be shroomy.
