tripping off rye jars

I have read several threads and a tek or two about consumption of mycelium, or rather a tea made from cakes . My question is this; I have several jars of aussie on rye, that look very heavily colonized, I have already filled my fruiting chamber and put several jars in the fridge to wait thier turn, I still have some jars without a home (there's no room left anywhere) and after waiting six months already, I am anxious to try out my home grown psili . Can I just eat the rye with a spoon, or would i be better off extracting the psili. It seems to me that it is likely to leave psili in the myc if you try to extract it, whereas if you just eat the whole thing, you're sure to get it all. anyone with experience, please chime in. Thanks all.

Ive never done the rye cakes but ive tried and verified on the BRF, OJ method of extraction. I would suggest extraction if no one else advises you can eat the rye substrate. - I was advised not to eat my cake kuz it had Vermiculite in it but no one posted any other concerns with eating the cake.

I didn't use any verm. 100% rye berries. Didn't studies just come out on the benefits of eating whole grains? Anyway, I guess if nobody else advises otherwise, I'm going to have a bowl of australian rye berries for dinner...

If he has no room to fruit or even store it, then yes i say eat it. And in my case if you want to trip bad enough then yes...it is expecially if your fruiting more anyways.

yeah, I fear that if I let them incubate any longer or sit anywhere but a fridge, then they'll start to go to shit. How many 1/2 pint jars would I need to consume to get a level 3 or better? Is there any harm in eating it wet?

Try it and let us know. I will be knocking up some azure myc on wheat grain with the intention of eating the grains. I plan on mixing it with hot curry sauce to mask the taste.

I remember that around a half a quart got me a buzz once and the same fungus that was a fully colonized jar past point of shaking mixed into a fruit smoothie tasted potent and I ended up flipping out and coming down to my buddy talking me down as I stared at the wallace and grommet hours later. I wouldn't say it's weak I'd say it's unpredictable, and will agree with the flavor being subpar .

I wonder about continually shaking up the jar and letting it recolonise over and over again. No active should be lost, and the myc will just feed deeper and deeper into the grain each time. It may take ages meaning you are better off growing sclerotia. I have seen studies showing dry azure myc to be almost as strong as dry cubensis fruits. I like the idea of azures since I will need no incubator as they colonise at the temp that my room is at, about 20C

I used an inncubator once and said the hell with it, I don't find it necessary for cubes myself. I am happy the fruiting range is room temp too

It would be hard to figure out how much to dose like that. With a regular mushroom, you can grow it, dry it and weigh out your dose. You would probably have to eat alot because of the rye making up most of the weight of what you are eating. This is probably why people say it's "weak". I sure as hell wouldn't want to eat a couple of quarts of rye berries to trip. You'd probably get sick anyway and...

I've heard something... Try taking your cakes and putting them into some strong booze, it's a mixture called "blue juice." Once you let them soak for a while you just strain it out and that should be that.
