It depends on the pornography. Much of it is negatively oriented and to be avoided. I tend towards agreeing with Markosthegnostic on this one. Personaly, fantasy does not do it for me. I have only the here and now and that is where I prefer to stay. I also do not feel that self love need be sexually based. Love is independant of sex. Sex can enhance love, and the reverse, but love and sex are separate. My brothers both think that if sex is involved then love must be involved. I watched both of them waltz through several failed marriages due to this misconception. Thay still do not understand this distinction. People often mention Tantra when discussing the ramifications of sex, but in reality sex is just a very small part of tantric practice and almost totally absent from Tibetan tantric practice...just my 2 cents...

I generally agree with you Hue. I just have trouble with black and white statements.( You have already revised your stance on pornography from your other post.) Of course love need not be sexually based. Yet for someone that has difficulties in sex, (through repressive upbringing, or inexperience, ect) masturbation can be a healthy way to being healing.  I think we might agree that there is no good or bad things. It is all in the intent. I have a friend who went to Tantra classes alone because they had no partner. They learned through sacred masturbation to open the flow in their chakras. Pretty impressive for something many look down upon. There intent was to be opened and that was the vehicle. :thumbup:

OK Ice here are my two cents..........

Masturbation is great and has it's place in the big library of what feels good. But is what feels good always good ? I mean satisfying the flesh can only satisfy the flesh. The flesh can in no way satisfy the Soul of a Man. Spiritual growth as far as I understand it has nothing to do with the Body or the needs of the Body. I have found much greater attachment to spiritual things by denying my body what it wants. Fasting from foods, water, sex etc... has been a far greater tool than "tantric sex" (which I have studied very little)Not to say I can't fuck like a dog........ My wife says I can :smile:


The bigger picture for me has always been to further my spirit, not my body or my worldly desires.

What would be the goal of a great dick massage ? :confused:

Sex is spirit. Sex is God. Without sex there is no you. Sex is the life force made manifest. Sex can connect you to your experience of God. That's much of what western tantra is about. Sex can satisfy much more than just the flesh. Depends on intent. You cannot judge tantric sex even if you had studied it much if you have not direct experience with the divine through it. Because I read about God and study the bible, do I know God? Tantric sex is not about fucking like a dog. I'm afraid you know very little of tantra. I suspect many know little about sex outside of the mechanics of it.  I am myself just learning about the potential of sex in spirituality. I had no idea. :grin:

Oh I agree 100% I know almost nothing of Tantric sex and the thousands of years of experience and teachings............. But

I do know 100%(for me anyways)that the path to truth in God has nothing to do with the body. I understand the " union " thing in reguards to the union between God and Man. And how some believe that Tantric Sex can be a path to experienceing a union with God. It makes sense......in a small way. I do know something about this stuff.

It's just my personal experiences with God and the spirt of God has absolutly nothing to do with the desirees of the body. God has shown me both in the life of Jesus and my own life that the body and the needs of the body are to be set aside in the path to God. Fasting has always been one of the most valuable tools a person has to get closer to God. So forgive me if I offened anyone when I say that Sex has no place combined with spiritual relationships.

But there is a part of me that says to me.......... "Hey Fucknuckle Sex is the start of life and the means which God brought you into this world why wouldn't Sex be another path to get closer to God ?"


So maybe I owe it to myself to futher my experience and knowledge in this direction................and maybe I will

The path of Yesod to Tiphereth in Kabbalah is not only the Marriage of Moon and Sun, sex with love, bride with husband, but it also symbolizes the transcendence of the sexually embodied ego into the Higher Self (or the human soul into Christ in Christianized 'Cabala').

This process of sex transcended can be seen in the images of the Hindu Shiva-Shakti Maithuna and the Yab-Yum Tibetan Buddhist figures of sexual union. The Hindu pair retains a sexual idiom for mystical union but the Buddhist re-evaluated the union in terms of [feminine] Wisdom embracing [masculine] Compassion. The fact that the symbol is still a mating pair leaves the exclusively sexual dimension somewhat 'below' the spiritual, or conversely, the spiritual is a sublimated (or elevated) sexuality that no longer has sensual aspects to it.

Physical pleasure can and does distract one from the more subtle fuller notion of mystical union. I do not live in full conscious Union with GOD, obviously, but by way of parallel, I notice (as does my Lady) that at the beginning of a psychedelic trip there is often genital (2nd chakra) stimulation. Then the energy seems to fill the navel center (which is uncomfortable, jittery, etc.) and a moment of Yoga bow posture can move the energy up. By that time, sexual feelings leave as more energy fills the higher chakras, and sex does not enter our minds til we come down again (or, until the energy moves back down like Mercury in a thermometer when the temperature falls).

The incompleteness that is temporarily completed by sexual union in normal consciousness is completed by union at higher centers while psychedelicized. I like to think of human relationships as two atoms. Most of our 'bonding' takes place between the outer shells of physical and social connections - things that we actually 'do' with our bodies like playing sports with others, or the various social roles that our different conversations and dress define. What we are looking for (after the Platonic myth of original wholeness, or the Biblical myth of Adam-Eve who were then separated) is a 'nuclear fusion' with another. True love - two hearts as one - Center-on-Center - Oneness - Light. Now this can happen along with sexually interconnected bodies of course, but it needs to be able to happen without the aid of sex. Hey, sex opens my heart center, but it needs to stay open during non-sexual times.

Jung said that Individuation requires just this kind of 'intercourse.' Individuation is required for the attainment to higher spheres of Union. We often confuse the means for the end, and sexuality as a vehicle of transcendence is itself transcended when we come to arrive at the Place that sex was intended to take us to. Like a spent stage of a rocket, it can be jettisoned after its use has been exhausted. Now hopefully, this scheme takes place in a tidy developmental way. I do not want to be elderly, still desire a young sexually desirable woman, and be tormented with desire. I will not be much to desire either at that point so I hope that my inner development stays a bit ahead of my outer deterioration!

Remember all you studs and hotties out there - you have to see this in a much wider picture than the mirror you stand in front of today  :wink:

This is a disgusting topic and should not be talked about. I've never touched myself or even looked at myself for that matter - the human body is a revolting thing and you should feel ashamed to even be in one let alone even contemplating enjoying it.
