this happened with me as well. it still enhances my senses a little bit though.

"marijuana will always work for me , a lifestyle more than a drug"

Endorsing chronic drug use (lifestyle?) is unenlightened. Casual marijuana use is alright, but chronic use has a negative effect on physical and mental health. Chronic drug use of any kind is unhealthy.

Why is it unhealthy? If it was a lifestyle for me, I know I'd use mostly brownies and other methods, not only because they have basically zero negative physical affects but because they get you a lot higher and last longer. So why would, for example, eating marijuana brownies daily have a negative physical and mental impact on health?

And what is unenlightened? Reportedly enlightened spiritual people do a lot of unhealthy activities, like long fasts from food and water.

Any drug use used habitually is unhealthy. In the case of oral consumption the mental effects of marijuana have been discussed here too much for me to repeat it....just do a search on the shroomery or google it. I am not downing it completely...just chronic use. Many substances can be harmful in chronic proportions....like too many vitamins, asprin, exlax, etc... Fasting by the way is often healthy. Most religious traditions that endorse it only use fasting for short periods of time.

yep, chronic use is unhealthy and shouldn't be promoted. however, Ravus strikes me as a mildly intelligent fellow and I'm sure his usage is responsible. regular use isn't chronic use. I would hope that anyone who finds themselves in a position where they can't do without a substance, would cut back on its use or seek help.

regular heavy use of marijuana is unhealthy physically and mentally, i know from experience. even if you don't smoke it, it still affects blood flow in the brain, interferes with REM sleep and often leads to higher levels of anxiety.

adverse mental effects of cannabis will always be highly contraversial, but i'm going to say that regular prolonged use is far from healthy. its fucked up a few people i know, and it was on its way to fucking me up as well. the statistics are of little help; since they contradict eachother depending on who the statisticians were producing the statistics for. its very hard to find an truly objective scientific study on the matter.

take what i say with a pinch of salt if you want, but cannabis can be a subtley dangerous drug.

"Most marijuana smokers are Negroes, Hispanics, jazz musicians, and entertainers. Their satanic music is driven by marijuana, and marijuana smoking by white women makes them want to seek sexual relations with Negroes, entertainers, and others. Here are some other quotes form Harry J. Anslinger

"...the primary reason to outlaw marijuana is its effect on the degenerate races."

"Marijuana is an addictive drug which produces in its users insanity, criminality, and death."

"You smoke a joint and you're likely to kill your brother."

"Marijuana is the most violence-causing drug in the history of mankind."

Ravus said:
Man, I've been smoking a lot of bud lately. I take long breaks of a few months, then get some bud and am constantly high until it's all gone.

But why do we do this? What does the human mind get out of this plant? We smoke it and feel good, relaxed, floaty, but why do we feel this way? Is it just some strange coincidence that this smoked plant produces happiness, or is this one of evolution's strange gifts?

Perhaps marijuana was consumed by animals more ancient than ourselves and this is what spread it all over the place. Perhaps more advanced animals loved the feeling too, because we are all wired in similar ways across the species. Down to dogs or deer or giraffes, we all feel happiness and pain and pleasure.

But the human mind is supposed to be unique, and indeed I believe it is in the marijuana experience. Other animals experience emotions, feelings and precepts like we do, but we are animals that become so reliant on higher thought that it almost becomes the area of all our existence. Our written word, our spoken thoughts, our names and labels, all seem to be affected drastically on marijuana too, and this is what many people, including myself, love about it. It may just be chance, a new organism reacting in different ways and vastly spreading this favored plant around, that our thoughts react in the way they do to cannabis, that it scrambles them so as to create new patterns in the grain.

That because cannabis is Zen. Thats why these new thoughts come rising about. Because cannabis provides Zen. As would Zen tea with a Zen master.
