I am wholly unenlightened.

I do not seek to meditate or to clear my mind of instinctual emotion.  I see no ultimate truth in the placid and ultimately monotonous bliss of Zen contemplation.  I give into the desires of the flesh just as easily as I shirk altruism and choose self-service.  I enjoy harboring petty resentments as well as unjustified gripes.  I take pleasure in other people's misfortune, and I choose gratification of my own ego over that of others.  I believe that might makes right, and that compassion and mercy are merely tools designed to keep the humble in their place.  Rather then eliminate desire, I choose to satisfy it.

I know nothing, save that I know more than everybody else.  C'mon, ask me a question and the Oracle will give you Truth.

It kind of makes you wonder, why bother? Though I'm sure if I had spent that much time on something it would be much more satisfying if I subconciously convinced myself it was worthwhile. This is unbiased speculation.

Personally I don't understand why you would want to only feel bliss, or peace, or happiness. They're all excellent, but only a fraction of the chemical cocktails we possess the power to feel. I mean come now, self-pity and anger feel great. There is a certain beauty in sorrow.

I prefer to enjoy all these feelings as if life were a piece of art.

Because I realize that I will eventually die anyway, and I'm curious as to the manner in which my conscious experience will continue to unfold.
