Looking to expand black metal collection

Not sure how many black metal fans are here, I understand that it is a pretty extreme and evil type of music but it just happens to be my favorite... most people I know can't really stand it or understand why I like it.
Can't really list everything I have but some of my favorites. I have all of the albums for the following bands:
bathory borknagar burzum dark funeral darkthrone diabolical masquerade dissection emperor enslaved immortal
Looking for similar stuff. I can handle clean vocals sometimes but I prefer the screaming growling style.. I really like the raw style of bathory's early albums. I have tried some metal sites and stuff but they had too much info to really be able to choose anything in particular. If anyone knows of a good site with reviews and stuff, I would appreciate a link to that also.
I have an assortment of death metal also but I'm basically after black metal for now.
I know this type of discussion can turn into arguments about what specific genre that a given band belongs to... and about what bands are the best or whatever... I'm just looking for some suggestions, I don't really want to get into too much about specifics and stuff.
I'm sure there have been posts about this in the past but I figured I would try here just to see if anyone (currently) is into the same sort of stuff that I listen to.

eris, I think you'll be very happy if you do a search for "Shroomism's Metal Guide" or variations on that combo of words. It's somewhere in this music forum.

I can recall the exact thread that you mention, I even remember posting in it.. Thanks for the info but I've already been through the black metal section in that thread.

I don't really listen to a whole lot of black metal, but I do have a few suggestions.
Ulver- Nattens Madrigal- Ulver- Bergtatt Lux Oculta- Maior Arcana Samael- Blood Ritual Agalloch- The Mantle and Pale Folklore-Not exactly black metal, but still really great. Really hard to describe their sound, but by the bands you listed and also the fact you're into death metal too there's a good chance you would like them. The singer often has a black metal vocal style, but the music itself isn't quite black metal. Just check em out!
I only listed albums because all of those bands (except Agalloch) changed their sound somewhere along the way, but those are all pretty good.
For a link to a metal page, check out http://www.bnrmetal.com/ It doesn't have reviews on the site itself, but it usually has links to reviews. It's a great reference site regardless.

Ah, interesting. I must say my black metal and other metal collections have grown much in 5 years and 7 months since I made this thread. Thanks for your recent suggestions. I'm still down with checking some different stuff out. Funny to wake up this morning and see this thread at the top of my list of active threads.
