First time I ever dosed mushrooms (probably ate somewhere around 1-1.5g) I saw faces when I closed my eyes. There were very statuesque faces, like they were carved out of stone or they were masks or something but they would appear in rapid sucession, each one morphing into the next.

mine don't ALWAYS look like faces, but I feel them as a presence, ie: When I see ANY circles or dots, they immediately turn into eyes, which "stare" at me and though I don't always see them actually staring i just FEEL it, and it can be unpleasant or sometimes very enjoyable. on my first shroom trip i was overlooking this valley of trees on my friiend's balcony and there was this giant section of trees and the lights from a house which i saw as this funny hippy toking up on a pipe and laughing with me ... i loved that, i thought it was hilarious and entertaining. i ALWAYS see and feel faces, its one of the main things about my trips

Those stony faces that you were talking about sound similar to those described by Aldous Huxley in his book - heaven and hell - where he talks about those that inhabit the antipodes of our minds which we access while on psychedelics... I once saw Robert Plant in some gravel, and when i saw my face on 3.5 dried grams of PS.Cyanescens i looked like a demon - all distorted and shit

I usually dont notice any faces but when ever im tripping i make a collective conscience not to look at my reflection. i just dont know if i would like to see what i look like under the influence.

I've never heard of Huxley but he sounds interesting... Can you tell me more about this?
One time while trippin, when I though I was coming down, I couldn't sleep because I kept being haunted by images of the simpsons it was bizarre

Huxley, Aldous (spell?)
best known for brave new world, doors of perception and heaven and hell (among others)
brave new world is along the same lines as 1984 in an authoritarian world type of way. i've never read heaven and hell, but doors of perception is written about his experience with mescilan.
you quote kerouac at the end of your post, it's strange you've never at least heard of huxley as he was (i'mprety sure) involved with allen ginsburg for a time among other prominent counterculture figures.
