hey everybody.. i was wondering if it is possible to grow shrooms if you are lazy and dont want to spend a lot of money on it. i think shrooms are great, not only for the trip aspect but i just think they look great too and therefore i would like to try and grow them. i do not care about quantity as its just for fun now, and if i manage to keep the shrooms alive and have a few i can eat, i'll consider getting less lazy :P
i'm sure u all know theres mushroom grow kits available. some of em just need water, but i think thats kinda lame.. if there are any other people that just started growing mushrooms, i would really like to talk to them, on msn messenger on icq if anybody uses those programs.

hey my munkiez unkle just started growing on 5 cakes and a small terrarium using bubblers for humidity and i harvested an oucne on my frist flush and i was so unsterile alot of the times, maybe just luck and i didnt even use a pressure cooker, i got AIM if u wanna talk there, peace

Yup I just started this little hobby on .... October 3rd I dated my first innocluations...... and let me tell you it is addicting, but fun aswell because the life cycle from start to finish is about 2 months so its not like growing a cactus.... I expect to harvest my first flush in about a week..... so it took me a month to finish my first harvest and I got 2 more for these cakes........ www.fanaticus.com <-- BEST place to order syringes trust me on that one. As far as being lazy here's the deal. Growing shrooms is EASY (compared to other things like weed and peyote).
Once you innoculate the jars (which takes about 3-4 hours including cooling time), you just let them SIT for about 3-4 weeks. That's right, you do NOTHING (except check to see how they're doing and thrown out contaminated shit).
Once you put them in a terrarium, all it takes is daily fanning (or if you're really lazy and air pump, but that costs money), and harvesting.
There's a bit more to it, but that's pretty much it. My wookie's first time he spent about $50 total, and has grown enough to trip him and his friends several times already.
It's a great hobby... just make sure you read the MMGG and the PF Tek, they're pretty much essential for doing it successfully your first time I think.

I strongly disagree. Any moron can grow killer weed. All it takes is one good grow book by Ed rosenthal (AKA: Ask Ed from High times and Canibus Culture), a good strain and a secure location.

I looked into it a while back, and it seemed like it was too easy to get caught with having to run high-powered grow lights and smell and all.
If you can recommend a good book, I'd REALLY love to grow some good bud. It's easy to come by really killer weed where I'm from, but it can get expensive ($100-$120/quarter for the really dank shit). I think that's pretty typical pricing though... so growing some for myself would be a godsend.
My wookie actually started growing shrooms because he wanted to grow weed but decided it was too much of a hassle.

This link is more valiable than any book. The spirit that made High Times Magazine is still alive and well in this Canadian site. Check out: http://www.cannabisculture.com (copy and paste the link) - There is a ton of streaming video there, where if you have a high speed internet connection you can literilay spend hours watching stuff like: POT TV and shit. There are many links to head shops that sell grow books there. Any book by Ed Rosenthal will be excellent... even his old ones (he updates the older titles every few years to keep up to date)

lol 100-120 for a quarter, thats normal price here in cali and if its really good bud, youl only get 3 grams for 6 bux, not a whole eighth, and trust me, we got the best doszha :D white widow baby gotta luv it :D but we aint got no acid! arggg and all the special k is down south :( bummer, where ya frum jaun?

I'm also just starting out with shroom's, and i wish it was easier than growing pot. If it was that easy who would need any reading. I started growing pot at 12. Nothing at all to it, Plant a seed , it grows, No sterility, No work.
So i agree jammer.

The cost of liveing and much higher average income in Cali drives up the price of everything. In the midwest the killer premo hydro skunk bud rarely goes for above $80 a quart. It can be had (total BOMB HYDRO BUD) sometimes for as little as $50.00 a quart, if your lucky.

That's about the same as here (Atlanta)... in fact what I got a while back may very well have been from Cali, since I know this guy does get some shit from there.
There isn't shit for acid out here either... I'm sure K is around, but I don't really know cause I don't like the stuff personally.

like karen said, do it. my personal hint is: save some money so that you can buy 'the mushroom cultivator' (stamets), it's worth much more than it costs ;)

The green in my home town is great, AFOAF has had some purple stuff that could kill a horse with a bong rip, for only $40 an 1/8.
