If you ask someone at the store he/she is getting it at , i'm sure they could help you out. From what I know, pressure cookers usualy have gauges. All the ones I have seen do. maybey this is a new kind or something, I dont know...

Pressure cookers without gages usually have a jiggler weight on top to regulate the pressure and the jiggler should have a number stamped on the bottom to indicate the pressure. Usually 10 or 15. The pressure can be changed by changing the size of the jiggler.

Thats the same one I have (Wal Mart 50 bucks) The weight on top splits into three sizes corresponding to 5, 10, and 15 PSI. This PC is VERY easy to learn and use. Ive said it before and I'll say it again: BEST investment I could've made. Especially since I cook with it quite a bit too. From what Ive seen 50 is a pretty good price for the size.

I have a Presto. The BOMB. The regulator weight rocks a bunch when pressure is built, then you back off the heat a bit until it rocks back and forth in a more controlled way. Standard practice for me is sterilizing for one hour. And as I'm experimenting with new substrates, the one hour shift seems enough to penetrate the new substrates.
