Q: Using a pressure cooker with filter patch bags

Yo,

What's up there guys? I have a quick question here...

So I just bought a pressure cooker and want to use it to sterilize some bags of grains. I figure I'm going to put the bag in some sort of bread pan or something inside the presure cooker to prevent the bag from melting against the side of the PC....ok, here's where teh questions come in...

a.) Will this really help prevent melting the bag? Or will the bread pan get just as hot as the PC itself.

b.) Should I also fill the bread pan with water? or just the bottom of the PC (I'm still trying to exactly figure out the mechanics behind the whole pressure coker thing.

c.) Haha, am I on the verge of killing myself and everyone around me with this hairbrained idea?

Well, this is just my current plan to sterilize the bags. If anyone has a better idea or instuctions (I looked around teh archive and coulldn't really find anything) on how to use a pressure cooker to sterilize filter patch bags, let me know! Thanks!

This is such a male dominated scene

No need for the bread pan. The pan will get hot and melt your bags.

Place the substrate in the bag, seal your bag. Place the bags in the pressure cooker. Place about one and half inches of water in the PC. Make sure your bags aren't touching the sides. Then close the PC and cook.
