The Fascist in all of us.

We are all closet fascists, we all secretly or openly desire to control the actions or thoughts of others, especially your average hippy.
Your average hippy is basically a pacified Nazi, they preach all day about how people should behave, what they should eat, what media they should consume and how they should tailor their personal spirituality.
I think fascist thoughts all the time, in fact, this thread is an exercise in covert fascism.
So,
if you could somehow become the head of your state, and magically impose your will on its citizens, what is the one thing you would like to make them do?
myself, I would make a law that would ban excessive packaging (of products) and highly regulate materials and processes used to make said packaging.

Everyone (over the age of 12) would have to eat 5 dry grams of poo grown shrooms.

i would question your statement. I care nothing for what other people do, but i am an extreme fascist to myself ( and only myself ). I ultimately seek complete control over myself in any way i can imagine.
If people don't know what to do and ask for advice, then i will offer suggestions. If people do something stupid that gets them hurt, I regret their actions. At no point do I want control over anyone else's actions.
Anyway, just arguing against your generality.

Yeah, contrary to what anyone thinks, not everyone wants control over others' actions. Anyone who thinks that is merely projecting their own desires onto others. Hence my sarcastic answer.

Well being a Facist is part of my makeup. This thread is mindplay for that part of me.
In reality my current beliefs are that everything that happens has a purpose and resistance is futile. Changing what others do will not bring about the desired results, so I will focus on changing myself and not others.
I have many parts to myself. One part of me doesn't want to control anything, one part does, one part loves, one part hates. That is where I am in my personal evolution and may be the truth about everything. Just a polarity where everything has a place. So called light and dark sides of the universe/ god if you must.

I was thinking about the excessive packing issue last night while taking out the garbage. There is to much trash going out of my home for just 3 people. Its all of the excessive packaging.
It takes me 10 minutes sometimes to get a new toy of my daughters out of it's nightmarish packaging. It's really wasteful. Why can't a doll or doll car just be put on a shelf? It has to come in 3 layers of packaging with security ties and twists.
At least its recyclable but still. Why does cereal need the box around the bag inside of it? Could we go back to the days where you just took your reusable baskets to the open market in the town center and filled it up with the unpackaged goods? I would dig that.
Controlling the people of my state? I'd revamp all of the underlying systems to help people take better responsible control over their own lives so they don't have to be controlled.
Mental, physical, emotional and financial health and security for all would be the primary goal. If everyone has that then WOW, beautiful things will blossom from out of that soil. I would want to fix the causes of why so many are mentally, emotionally, physically and financially suffering.

I was thinking about the excessive packing issue last night while taking out the garbage. There is to much trash going out of my home for just 3 people. Its all of the excessive packaging.
Penn & Teller (the big stand-up comedian and his short, frumpy side-kick) did some research in the field of Garbology recently and found that, contrary to conservationist hysteria, the entire US output of garbage for the next 100 years could be accommodated in an 11 square mile land fill.
Over the course of the 100 years, the landfill could produce enough natural gas from decomposition to power a small town. After 100 years, when the landfill reaches capacity, the engineered structure, like many landfills, could be turned into a nice park.
A hundred years of garbage in just 11 square miles. Picture that on a map of the US which is over 3 thousand miles end to end. It's a tiny square.
The resources wasted making the garbage in the first place is another matter.
