waking up twice?

Lately, I've found that I've been waking up around 6 in the morning, and I'll either decide to get up and have breakfast or stay in bed, but either way, I always end up going back to sleep, and usually waking back up around half an hour before work. I can't help but think that this time spent awake is making me wake up later the second time than I might otherwise do. Can someone tell me how to avoid this? I don't want to end up late for work some day.

I suffer from the same affliction. I don't sleep for 8 hours straight. I sleep for four hours and wake up. I either stay up and end up taking a long-ass nap later in the day (which fucks with my sleeping schedule) or I lay in bed for two hours trying to get back to sleep. If I just lay there, I eventually get back to sleep but now I have been in bed 10 hours instead of 8...so I waste a lot of time that way.

That's just how it goes sometimes.
