Hi Scourge. Ok fist you need an old pot your not going to use anymore. Next take your worm castings and pour about a cup into the pot. Fill it up with 5 cups of water. Now bring this to almost a boil and keep it there for about 15 minutes (constantly stirring). Now pour this through a strainer and keep the " juice" but throw away any left over solid material. Pour the juice back in the pot and bring the level back to 5 cups. Add 2 cups of Whole Brown Rice and bring to a boil. Cook until the rice has absorbed all the water. Then pour in a large bowl and pour in enough vermiculite to keep the individual grains separated. Fill your jars about half full and pressure cook as usual.:) bluhoney

Blu, sorry to butt in here, but - 1) Is it the same if my monkey wanna try this without verm casings - but malt extract? 2) Should the vermiculite you add at the end be wet or dry? Sorry, my monkey is stoopid and needs lots of help. He tried brown rice before but it all dried out when he was swinging about Duncan8r and his whizz bang monkey

Hi duncan8r:) My friend hasnt had any experience with malt extract, but from assumption and opinion, she says you may be able to try it that way. Sorry for the guess answer approach, but I'd rather be truthful , than have you mess up As far as the verm layer. Either damp or dry works. Some people do it dry, others do it wet. My friend personally add's plain dry verm and this works great for her. Either will work though. bluhoney
